Is Fiverr still a micro-freelancer site or what?

It seems to me that Fiverr is turning into useless scam site since, when you do a search there, the majority of gigs has nothing to do with "I will do", "I will write", "I will create" any more.... most of them are now "I will send", "I will give", "I will show"... and of course, all that those gigs do is to send you a crappy or illegal product... not to mention that most of listed gigs are giving out the same products... that's sad...

Can we say good bye to Fiverr?

No My friend ....There is still alot there. You need to clarify everything prior purchasing a Gig.You can even check order history to verify credibility.I am up there since last three months and got more then 50 orders and even got potential clients. All they do is leave me good comments and refer their friends to me.Checkout fiverr.com/nexstair

    Hope it helps.

I know that guys... I'm still using Fiverr for outsourcing some of my tasks... but today I got well surprised to see where they are moving... my guess is there will many more of those "crappy" gigs in the future...

Also, what surprised me... some gig seller I had on my list already removed their "service" and not they are offering "products"... for example, I had a gig seller that used to write short ebooks... now he is willing to "show" me how to write an ebook... and there is some other similar examples...

      zamzung,

Every arena has the good and the bad, it doesn't mean it's "dead" or will die down... it's up to you to find the good.

I personally haven't been scammed on the site, all the work I have received was brilliant because:

      1. I Knew what I wanted
      2. I Double checked the service offered
      3. I Checked their history
      4. I Provided crystal clear instructions

Yes, I know... I'm just saying that I'm seeing a lot more of those "I'll give you" offers than before... of course, everyone should be careful when dealing with Fiverr gigs, but I was referring more to the offer... everyone would like an easy 5 bucks

The part of fiverr that is hard to know if the job was done correctly (backlinking and similar) is always going to be crowded with scammers.

But fiverr has a majority of services that include the end product like content creation. Those will stay.

There will always be good along with the Bad, I have met a lot of really great sellers on Fiverr.com in fact it is one of the best places to get 'Micro' jobs done, if you have more money than time, use a more expensive outsourcing service, but over all, I have purchased 170 gigs, since they opened their doors, 27 of those had to be cancelled, due to one reason or another, the vast majority of the gigs have been productive, a few were not, the key is communication.

If you email someone and you never hear back from them, its a good clue that they may be too busy to do a gig, so you avoid them, when I first started using fiverr I had a lot of problems not paying attention to "who" was providing the gig, but since I started emailing and communicating my successful gig ratio has gone way up.

I have found some fantastic gigs on fiverr, it really is all about what you want to do and how you communicate what you want to do, Crowd Sourcing is here to stay, its not going anywhere.

nah i wont look at fiverr for serious stuff that i want done.

because quite honestly if u think about it, i wouldnt do something that is worth my time for $5.

so i wont expect people to give me quality work for $5 either.

    so i dont bother.

u get what u pay for.

    u pay $5 u get $5 worth.

so is ur work that u want done worth $5? or does it worth more?

if u outsource a video to put on ur site, that video is going to convert many sales for u. so is it going to worth $5?

if u can answer that then u can answer if fiverr is useful to u.

    • I think what the OP really means is that he wishes there were a good search filter. Right now search on Fiverr is very basic and not all that useful. I understand his frustration.

I have found that "I will give you ..." or "I will send you ..." gigs are never anything I want to pay $5 for, and if I could filter those out it would make my browsing time more productive.

Well, some of those gigs are truly amazing and not anything I could do for a multiple of the money they charge.

But you do have to wade through a lot of stuff that's not such a sure thing...

I've been really disappointed with the Twitter tweet services - not much of a response. The one person who really delivered stopped using Fiverr and disappeared Though if you know someone who does, let me know...

First of all, I don't know why Fiverr doesn't actively advertise this but their search engine supports the "minus" query.. so if you were looking for "write an ebook" and filtered out "show" like this "write an ebook -show" then you would be all sorted in that regard.

I usually sort gigs by popularity, so most of the time that excludes those gigs - they're almost never popular. This, and a minus query.. and these problems go away.

Yes fiverr has turned into offerings of reused plr material, but there are still great deals out there. Be specific in your search, sort by Rating and read customers comments until you find the best deal for you.

Fiverr now seems more like a place to get things done that are a bit stupid e.g. getting a dog to 'sing' a song and I saw one the otherr day that they would write your name on their eyelid...?

Buy anyhow, I still do use it for some tasks. You just need to find credible workers which isn't overly difficult because they have a solid feedback structure in place.
Although saying that you do get what you pay for in some cases and on more than one occasion I have cancelled my order or gotten a refund.

I guess people are trying to save their time

It takes a minuet or less to give than half an hour or an hour to write.

I guess also the fact many Top Rated Sellers out there, new sellers, find it hard to compete, probably why trying to get the easy way out

I have had good experiences buying from Fiverr, but I would never buy a "I will show you" gig. If I wanted to do it myself, I wouldn't be on Fiverr in the first place.

Fiverr is good, for newbies starting out in Internet Marketing.

I still do business with clients through PayPal not through Fiverr, hence I make more money on a consistent basis.

I can't agree with that... Fiverr is actually pretty useful and there are pretty good gigs that anyone can use for his business... but my point was that before it was much easier to find someone to do something for you... today there is many more gigs that "sells" products instead of "offering service"...

Maybe their search function is bad but when you see so many of those "selling" gigs, the whole purpose of Fiverr is losing its sense... at least in my opinion...

You are on the internet dude. There are scammers everywhere. Fiverr is going to be around for a long time.

We have used fiverr and outsourced plenty of jobs there.

Have we been scammed? yes! Once or twice, but it is a very good place and there are some very talented people offering really good stuff for just $5.

My big tip would be to stay away from newbies. Just hire people that have good track records or come highly regarded in here.

If you weigh up the pros and cons, I am sure you will work out that fiverr is a good one to mulitply your efforts, and that can give you more time to work ON your business, and not IN your business.

Yes, there are some really talented people on there, every thing in my just released WSO came from fiverr.com every single thing from the website to all the material and it is some of the best material I have seen, I have paid ten times that amount for less quality you just have to find the right people and you have to be willing to work on their schedule. When you do that you can do just about anything.

From creating a website, content for that website, Products, for WSO sales, and more...

Since when has Fiverr ever been exclusively service based?

I have been on there since the start and there has always been a tremendous amount of products for sale (digital products to start with and, with the introduction of the shipping fee, physical products too). There is no reason to label all of these products as 'crappy or illegal'. You are talking nonsense.

Man, are you surprised? Write an ebook for $4 a pop? The guy obviously smartened up.

There are scams on Fiverr but you can't tar all with the same brush especially as many of the service based gigs (backlinks, likes, tweets) are the worst offenders.

I like Fiverr, granted I haven't had my fingers burned with it. I always do my research properly prior to purchasing gigs and have a conversation with the seller. I have recently had some data research worked completed quicker than the seller stated and it was done really well - I checked and will be using that seller again.

I wouldn't consider using some of the gigs which seem unbelievable, it's easy to move past them.
