Namecheap had several promotions in the past but the discounts were not as big as GoDaddy's. I think this is the first time that Namecheap came out with a $0.99 domain name promo.

This isn't the first time. ^_^ They have it every now and then, they had a $.99 deal last October for reaching a certain number of fans in FB.

They should take a leaf out of GODADDY's book. 10,000 domains doesn't get everyone in a mad rush crashing the servers, a 2,500 limit does.

Yes, the coupon code is "SHOPPINGRUSH". At the moment it's loading very slow and I've processed one order but it failed and said you have not paid whilst I did. But I contacted support and I'm sure they'll resolve that. As for now, I'm hunting for more domains

I was on the checkout process when it died and gave the loading errors. After several attempts at reloading, it logged me off. It seems NC doesn't save cart items automatically. T_T I had to search them all again. I hope this one goes through, currently stuck on shopping cart again.

I got a status update error from NC while the payment was being processed, but when I checked my email, I was charged for the domains. So I'm feeling a bit positive that I got them, just need to check with support later if they don't show up in my domain manager. ^_^

And I tried looking for my domain again, and it's still available

I guess I should contact support about it, whether or not they made the charge since my total in the invoice did end up being $0.00...might have been because of the checkout timeout.

It took like 45 minutes to buffer through everything...but it got through!

(I held off on the pepperspray...but it was touch and go... :rolleyes

.99 dot coms and free privacy - cool deal (up to 5 tld's - go daddy only allowed me 1@1.00, and a same name .info for .49...)

Its not sold out, they have just started the sale about 5 minutes ago to be exact. My whole family just bought their 5 domains right about now.

The trick was to have all your domains in your little cart because when the sales start everybody will be rushing to the domains registering page which will cause that webpage to freeze like crazy.

The checkout is still a bit slow, but doesn't really crash as often which is good.
If you have your domains in your cart then you'll still have a chance to purchase them.

Another thing that we notice were the domains in your cart would end up vanishing over a period of time so we ended up installing a firefox addon called "ReloadEvery" so it would refresh the webpage every 2 minutes just so the cookies wouldn't delete itself.

It is still cyber Monday and I think they will have another sale later on, and thanks for the infomation! We didn't know about this deal until we read your topic .

Namecheap is 3rd rate IMO. If you can't handle the volume then don't offer such discount. I'm all for .99 cent domains but not so much to act like a trained monkey and hit refresh over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...

The trick is to load up all your domains in your cart BEFORE the discount is available so then all you have to do is checkout

Has that worked when you've tried it before? I would have thought maybe the session would expire if there isn't any activity for a certain period, so you'd have to re-login.

No, the session doesn't expire unless you're waiting for longer than 30 minutes. I usually finalize everything about 5 minutes before the discount goes out and hit refresh on another window with the coupon until it's up
