Where Do You Outsource

Which sites do you hire outsourcers from? Do you use just 1 site or do you mix it up.

I use several sites and have a regular little team that I use.

I use Odesk for most of my staff
I regularly purchase gigs on Fiverr
and I also purchase services here on the WF too.

I also have a few freelancers who I work with on a private basis who I pay through Paypal.

Would be interested to know what other people do.

Craigslist. Some of the countries for hiring great outsource workers are India and Philippines.

I've heard of this site before and have been tempted to look into it, but to be honest what put me off so far is that I've used to people from the Philippines before on Odesk, and they turned out to be a real nightmare.

I've only heard good things about this site though, so maybe I should check it out.

    Craigslist
Odesk - I have been working on odesk a lot recently and have had a good number talented workers get back to me that seem willing to do the work. I am just making my way through all of the applicants, 'interviewing' them through odesk and I also plan to get the final few on skype.

Good for the tedious work and the stuff that doesn't make you the money!

It depends on what's needed. For back linking I use only one guy, Matt LeClear. He keeps his promises, and when he guarantees a page one ranking you can count on it.
For other things Fiverr has some great hidden gems.

I've thought about using Craigslist. What services are best outsourced on Craigslist?

In regards to finding a reliable Virtual Assistant to Outsource work to, you can either go the Do It Yourself (DIY) or the Done For You (DFY) route.

    Going the DIY route:

    1) Check out Virtual Assistant Forums such as VirtualAssistantForums.com and VaNetworking.com. Virtual Assistants from around the world hang out on sites like this to network and exchange ideas. You can go on there post your job request.

    2) Check out Freelancing sites such as Odesk.com, Elance.com and the great thing about sites likes this is that you can get to review the feedback left for the providers and ratings on similar work that they have completed.

    3) Make use of Job Boards like and if you are specifically looking to place ads for Philippine based Virtual Assistants, check out Jobstreet.com.ph and BestJobs.ph. Just be ready for a flood of responses.

    Going the DFY route:

    1) Virtual Assistant Placement companies such as VirtualStaffFinder.com for a one time fee will help you find a VA who matches your requirements and can get the job done.

    2) Virtual Assistant Services Providers are firms like ContemporaryVA.com. AskSunday.com and HireYourVirtualAssistant.com (full disclosure - this is my firm) who provide Entrepreneurs with a team of Virtual Assistants and also project managers to handle all you time consuming business tasks so that you can focus on what really matters in your business.

My final point is that even though you find a Virtual Assistant to help implement the work, you have to realize that you have to monitor and manage the process so that you get the outcome you want. It's never going to be totally hands off don't believe the hype! That said when you hire the right VA, or team of VAs they will make your experience pleasant!

I have a free tool that you can use to create a TO-DO list so that you clearly know what you need to delegate to a Virtual Assistant? Do you want me to send it to you?

I've used Odesk and Fiverr, but am taking my most expensive leap into outsourcing using Elance. I'm having an iphone and android app made, and there are quite a few very competent bidders to choose from.

I have had the most success from oDesk, and elance.

The trick is not to just use it like a brothel.

Once you find someone that does exactly what you ask and does very good work, and brings in results, look after them, reward them financially and keep them close to you. Do not let them go, and forget bout them. Keep them and build them as part of your team, you will never look back.

I've never had a bad experience on Elance. You can filter by price range and rating and read reviews to find what best suits you. I assume other sites do as well, however I only have experience with Elance because to be honest I started with them and I've never had to go elsewhere.
