WF Articles and WF Blog Posts - Are They Working For You?
Here are today's stats for the top bloggers (all those with over 100 posts):
# of posts # of comments
256 84
209 4
201 53
143 6
121 42
121 1
104 8
The average number of comments for all these top blogs is .17 (which means that roughly 1 post in 6 receives one comment). To my way of thinking, one comment for every six posts is not much interest for the amount of time it takes to write and post six blog entries. Yes, I realize that not everyone that reads a post makes a comment; however, this is the only hard measure of exposure that we have currently.
The WF articles section is not getting a lot of traffic either. When I checked today, the main discussion forum had about 1,000 visitors online, the WSO section had 4,500 and the "Articles" section had 16.
Page one articles (there were 60 of them) had an incredible zero replies - not one person making a comment on any article! For the sixty articles shown on page one, there was an average of about 20 views per article and the articles stretched over a period of three different days.
Now I realize that both the WF blogs and the WF articles sections potentially have other benefits than just WF readers and commenters. They can drive traffic to an owner's web site, potentially help in search engine rankings, give the author and his business some exposure and credibility, etc. There are probably more benefits and that is why I would like to hear from any of you that have experience with a WF blog and WF articles, either as an author or frequent reader.
What value have you derived from these parts of the WF? Are they a good and profitable use of your time? Have any of you tracked income made as a direct result of posting in these areas?
I think this is information others in the WF would like to know. Thank you.
