My Commission from Amazon Just Increased

I am new to Amazon and this month I sold 6 things and was on 4% or something and now today it has increased to 6% - I think I have to make sales on another 20 or so products and it will increase to 6.5%.

Please can somebody tell me will my commission always then remain at this amount for good now or does it go back down at the start of the next month until you reach a new threshold again for each month

Thanks if you know about this

It starts each new month at 4%.

As you sell a specific number of items during the month, the commission rate goes up.

The top rate (I think, but not sure) is 8% or 9%.

It's also my understanding that some items are capped at a low rate (4%?) such as big screen TVs, as an example.

So if you sell some items and the end of the month commissions look hokie be sure to look at the capped commissions to see if they apply.

It goes down every month but it's only really a pain in the ass when you're starting out.

A good strategy someone shared here was they have a couple of Amazon accounts that sell lower ticket items but in higher quantities to make sure they always end up over the 4% limit.

So if you're only focusing on uber-high ticket products and you've only got one website... then consider adding some easy to sell, lower ticket items that convert easily ones to help boost your commission percentage.

    I thought 4% was constant! :-)

4% isn't constant, some products even have higher commission percentage.

Here's a screen shot of the affiliate commission schedule. There are qualifiers on some of these things, but you can get an idea from this:

The good thing here is, you have got it right. Simply, rinse and repeat your process in different niches and soon you will be making several sales everyday that you don't need to worry about moving from 4% to 15% (for some products).

Electronics is always at 4%, but when you are adding product links to your website check and see if Amazon has it listing in another category such as office products. I have noticed that a lot of electronics are listed in more than one category and if you add your affiliate link from a different category you get the higher commission.

The great thing about the day that you commission jumps from 4% to 6% is everything you had earned 4% on jumps too. So you have a great day commission wise because of the jump

I love being an Amazon affiliate because I make $$ from whatever a person buys even if I am not promoting it.

The commissions are so low and that is why I don't bother with Amazon, but if you have lots of sites it can pay off. I think CB is a better choice for most people.

CB? I thought selling on Amazon is easier compared to other sites - sell more - get increase in commission, right? Thanks a lot for the info of it decreasing
