Best Thinking Outside The Box Marketing Method

Seems like Google rules everyone's marketing world. If Google were to close down tomorrow how would you market your site? What's your best non Google marketing method?

Build links on high traffic websites, and make my links more attractive than anything on the page.

Google has absolutely no control over my business at all. My number one traffic method is building relationships in whatever niche I am in, creating mutually beneficial relationships and gaining the majority of my traffic through affiliates and jv partners.

I also like to buy banners on related sites and not through google images either. I find it much better to negotiate my own terms with the website owner.

This way of marketing is reliable, consistent and predictable.

As many people here will tell you, you can't rely on Google. If you do, you're in for tears at the very least, and madness and despair at the worst.

To repeat: you can't rely on Google, ever.

Focus on building a list or two. Accept the traffic Google sends you with gratitude, but never depend on it. They can snatch away your traffic in a heartbeat, leaving you sitting in the wreckage.

When you have a list, you can get traffic to your site without any help from Google.

Re "marketing your site". Rather than marketing the site, concentrate on building a platform.

Ask yourself what your USP (your Unique Sales Proposition) is. What does your site uniquely offer? Who's your audience? Why would they return to your site/ buy from you again and again?

It's impossible to discuss marketing your site without knowing more than you've shared, but if you want to be independent, lists are your solution.

I'd (kinda) feel sorry for my competitors who built their empire on quicksand.

Then I'd get back to business as usual.

I think even Blackh*t guys agree that quality content rules all. If your site is of quality and people are linking to you organically, there is little that can go wrong when the algo changes.
