Squidoo Lens and Money

Hi, just curious about Squidoo. People say it is great or on the negative too busy but it is hard to find real numbers on how well squidoo does for bringing in money. You do not have to be specific but does anyone here have a squidoo lens that they can say that brings in an average of at least $500 PER MONTH, either directly or indirectly.

"Not PPC" just products or redirects back to a Sales landing page(does your squidoo lens convert to a sale)

$500 is just a ballpark number as an example

Squidoo for me is not about direct earnings, I use it for driving traffic to my "real" sites and for optimized backlinks.

I think a lens that made $500/month would be very much the exception. Not that they don't exist, but they are rare.

  I currently have over 50 squidoo lens's in various niches, would your wso be a benefit to those lens's or would i need to start new ones from scratch?

Agreed...the primary purpose of the likes of squidoo lenses or hubpages is to get a backlink from an authority site to your own site, plus to funnel traffic to said site. Making money with lenses is a bonus for me...not their primary function.

You can create Squidoo lenses whose primary function is making money, but it is highly unlikely that it would gross $500/month. It's possible, sure, but it is more likely that a collection of well developed lenses could make you $500/month. If you create your lenses using a number of strategies that pro-Squidooers use, you can kind of "set them and forget them" - it wouldn't be advantageous for you if you had to constantly promote every Squidoo lens you create.

Squidoo affiliate marketing can be very profitable, but it's not a fly-by-night kind of thing. It requires that you create and (basically) maintain basic content pages that web searchers find easily and find valuable.

But that's affiliate marketing in general :-P

However, on Squidoo, you can do it FOR FREE without knowing any coding at all. It's basically free money. If for no other reason, that's a good reason to give it a shot.

squidoo lenses can still make some decent amount of money....

All we need is to make sure that the lens is active.....

Using some blackhat ways can make things work pretty easy and quckier..

Have only ever used both Hubpages and Squidoo for Backlinks..

have never contemplated actually creating a money site on there.

You can make quite a decent killing from Squidoo, but you should be prepared to build a high quality lens. The problem with most folks who can't get traffic to their lens or have high rankings is simply because they produce very substandard content offering no value with the intention of ranking high for keywords. lol. Yeah, getting backlinks from "free" sites anyone can sign up to is so powerful. Let's all get our backlinks from Geocities and rock ourselves to riches.

If you find a niche with 30,000 searches per month you can create a hubpage for this. Make sure you use the keyrod in your hubpage url and title.

My earnings from Squidoo are spread out over all of my 91 lenses, however, I do have a handful of lenses that consistently earn me over $100 a month. So, it is possible. However, the key to making money on Squidoo is not creating one lens, but creating a portfolio of quality lenses.

I never thought of trying to make money with squidoo. I use them for traffic generation but not as a direct income source.

This gives me something to think about and learn more about.
