Should I be more aggressive when selling to my list

I am in the relationship Niche, and I offer a 4 day course which they opt in for. (1 Lesson per day)

First lesson I introduce myself more and explain what they will be recieving in the up and coming days. I then go on to share some tips and advice which is about 500 words long. At the end of this lesson I breifly recommend a clickbank product.

Lesson #2 and #3 is just pure content 600-800 words long, no selling what so ever.

And then lesson #4 is the big seller, where I basically review the same clickbank product which I offered in Lesson #1, but in much more detail.

My biggest open percentage is Email #1 and I'm wandering if I should be more aggressive. I was thinking about recommending the product at the very beginning of the email?

Opinions would be great.

I am not aggressive to my lists in the first email at all. Not until I give some valuable information.

However, there are always those who want to jump right in, so in the signature of every email, include a short tagline that would be very interesting to your list and have it click through to your offer.

I also might suggest if your other emails are not being opened, change the subject line until they get a better open rate.

Also, make the emails shorter. Put all the information on one of your webpages and have them click a link to get the rest of the story. Most people don't read long emails and the click through rate will tell you if your list is interested enough to click for the rest of the story.

If you change the subject line enough until you have a good open rate, then you can tweak the content until you get a good click through rate.

You can then also have other offers on the side of the page with the rest of the story on it.

Start segmenting your list or build a second list to split test pitch tactics. That is the only way to know for sure what will work best for you.

I agree that you should test tactics, but I've found that a lot of people on my lists are turned off when I try to sell them hard on something before I've given them any benefit for free. You might want to look at the contents of email #1 and see if you can make it better. Maybe they aren't opening the subsequent emails because you didn't hook them in the first one.

I think you are on the right track. Keep offering valuable free content. There is no rush in the mind of your subscribers. When we have the subscribers best interest in mind there is no need to be aggressive IMHO.

Offer valuable content and build some credibility...do some split testing to see what headlines work best for your emails

Like what's been said above, the only way to know for certain is to split-test. We can throw out what's working for use all day long but you gotta remember every list is unique and as a result... respond differently from every other list out there.

    • I think I already knew the answer, but thought I'd ask it anyway.

      Testing starts today.

I've decided to go pure quality content and no selling for the first 3 days, and then aggressive sell on day 4 on day 5.

I will come back to this thread in a few weeks.
