Good evening folks.
After tomorrow will be dropped an LLLL domain that is 6-years-old. I really want it amd then resell on flippa or somewhere else to make money from this investing so here are my questions;
1) if it is six years old and will be dropped, when i will reg it again will it be again 6 years old?
2) when ot expires shall i just go to registrar and pay 11 bucks and reg this domain or how?

I know about this process but I don't really understand you question.

Are you trying to catch a domain that has dropped and is about to be for sale again?

I think you just need the whois.com info

Go to whois.com and enter the domain name, then hit "whois"

Just PM the domain name if that is not what you are after.

The person who owns this domain can renew the domain for however long they want. If they had it for six years and now that person doesn't renew the domain then you can snag it about three months later.

This will tell you the "life-cycle" of a dropped domain name:

Domain Life Cycle: From registration to drop. | Bagful

If you want to catch a competitive domain name like a three character .com then you will need the services of pool.com or namejet.com that use fast scripts to blast registrars the moment the domain name becomes available.

It's up to the current owner of the domain. He/She can either renew it for whatever amount of time or the person can let it drop.

I think once you registered the domain again, it will show up as a six year old domain. 2 months ago, I registered a domain and did not know that the domain I registered was a domain that was recently expired. It showed as a 2 year old domain in market samurai even I just recently registered that domain. So I guess when you register it again, maybe it will show up as a six year old domain. But I am not too sure about this but base on that experience then it has a good chance it will show up as a six year old domain.

I want answers for these questions so I can help you perfectly
No, 0, it is LLLL, if i am not wrong it is on snapnames.

Yes it is in both databases of snapnames and namejet and its called pending delete.

The letters n domain are ugly but i want to sell it only because it is 6 years old.

If the domain name's status line indeed says Pending Delete, then count about
5 and 1/2 days from its last updated date. Its last registrant can no longer get
it back at this point, and will have to compete with everyone else for it.

Again, you'll only pay the registrar's registration fee if you are lucky enough to
manually register it and beat everyone else. If there's a hint that multiple folks
might want the name, then be ready to bid against them if you'll backorder with
        seasoned players like SnapNames.

If you dropped domain, this domain will have "history" when whois.

I believe it will still show as being a 6 year old domain. LLLL are very popular and in demand for domain buyers so that is a really good find especially if it is a .com

First of all go to namejet.com AND snapnames.net and check if the domain is there.. if the domain exist in their database then you will be able to know if it will keep the date or no

Snapnames will show the domain source as "drop" which means it wont keep the date, and if it shows moniker or any other company, this means it will keep the date
Namejet will show the type as delete or pre-release

The problem is namejet.. if you see the domain there then u might see alot of people put bids on it.. if not then don't put your bid! because it will go to the top and people will notice it.. now if you find it on namejet and its a pre-release and the original registrar is enom or fabulous then you are kind of screwed in a way

I got a premium domain from namejet ( pre-release) which means it kept the date but it was registered thro enom in the past.. so enom will hold if for 45 days and then if the owner doesn't pay them 250$ then I will get it.. I still have 10 days to go.. the domain will be in your account but if the owner decides to pay then they will take it from you and give you the money back

    1) It depends what stage it's in. You talk to the registrar if it's still expired and it
hasn't fallen into "redemption period" and all based on that life cycle posted here,
then you make as many backorders with as many providers as you can afford if it
will indeed become available for re-registration soon.

    2) If the registrar will try to auction that expired domain name, you pay an extra
fee plus their standard registration/renewal fee. If you're lucky enough to register
it normally when it's released and all, you just pay the standard registration fee.

Namejet should have the day it will be dropped on.. btw don't count on self registration because there is a big chance someone else is going to take it out.. and don't use godaddy backorder options because it doesn't catch anything .. even tho it doesn't have any bids on it as I am guessing.. alot of companies are out there to take it.. intrustdomains is one of them and they take everything..

Honestly that's up to you, whether to make a backorder with SnapNames or take
a risk and try to register it manually. If the domain in pending delete, though, I'd
imagine it would've been bought by someone else before its status changed into
      what it is now.

If you think the domain is valuable then wait like 10 mins before the dead line, the deadline should be posted on snapsnames and namejet.. remember that namejet time is pacific time....just don't make it visible before the drop date because some people would bid on it once you place your order.

Namejet is messed up somehow.. they play games..

Go to google and type pacific time, it will show you a clock with the time.. so you know what time is it on their end

btw the time you see there is the deadline to place your order.. if its a .com domain.. I know the dropping starts between 2:00 and 3:40 pm EST

if you regged domain after drop, your domain aged restarted at year you will register. But if you catch domain before dropped, domain age is continued. But still have history at archive.org
