The best auto responders

I am creating a new product and need a bit of feedback on what auto responders to build into it. I know for sure I will be having AWeber and I am thinking about Get Response to are there any other big ones affiliate marketers use that you would recommend?

There are a ton of them.

Ratepoint - Easy to use. Great for Email Broadcasts and quickly putting together an email campaign.

ConstantContact - Good, but I switched to RatePoint because of price and RatePoint included Survey's

MailChimp - MailChimp works well with Blogs and RSS feeds. I have some weekly auto email campaigns running off blog posts and RSS feeds.

iContact - I have not used
GetResponse - I have not used

I like Aweber because it is IM friendly and its cheap.

When you need a system with a lot of automation look at InfusionSoft.

      Hope that helps.

I use aweber, and email aces.

Once you learn them, and how powerful they are and easy to use, you will never look back.

Without building lists you cannot win this game.......but what email auto responder you use is not really that important, just as long as it is reliable.

"TAKE ACTION" is the first thing everyone tells you and then they leave it at that. I'll add a second part: TRACK EVERYTHING" - It's the only way to ensure your ACTION leads to results.

I use Aweber and swear by them. When I was looking for an autoresponder I simply read some reviews for them and jumped in. I didn't have time to talk about all the pros and cons and Aweber met my needs. It's cheap, reliable, and their support kicks ass.

If you want an autoresponder that is easy to use then go for Aweber.

As somebody who uses their services I consider them very good. Plus they provide video tutorials to get you started.

I have used Aweber and Getresponse extensively for a couple years. My suggestion is "Be your own Boss"! Own your own AR!..., however if you really insist on going that route, I would suggest Aweber.

Personally I wouldn't worry about anyone other than Aweber. If you look at all the mailing lists from the big dogs in IM, they all use Aweber. It's affordable and it works, so my advice would be to stick with them.

What "Big Dogs" are you looking at?

I know plenty of "Big Dogs" that won't touch Aweber with a ten foot stick...

Aweber is by no means the 'best'...

They are not even that IM friendly...

I use Aweber, but I also use Constant Contact, Imnica and 3 others...

In fact - if you've had your "ear to the streets" recently you'll see that Aweber is having an extremely tough time with deliverability nor are they all that "IM friendly" when compared to their competitors...

In fact I can think of 3 or 4 "big dogs" that recently got banned from Aweber... One of which had a list of over 100K and even beta tested for Aweber...

In fact - I now get more messages in the Spam in Yahoo from Aweber than all the other autoresponders put together...

to the OP - Find one that fits your business and your budget. There is no "best" autoresponder for everyone and most people who will tell you to use "x" have likely only used that one particular autorsponder and thus have nothing to compare them against...

I myself have tested over ten different autoresponder companies...

Being "IM friendly" or not has nothing to do with it.

You get your account closed when you send email that people didn't
request.. aka what everyone considers to be spam.

If someone had their account closed it's because they were doing
something they shouldn't have been doing, were told to stop it,
yet continued to do it anyway.

Email marketing best practices must be followed by everyone. The
rules aren't different depending on the market or who you are.

Equality is the name of the game. If someone doesn't want to play
by the rules they are asked to play elsewhere.

That's not quite what happened when I reported someone using
          your service to spam me.
You banned my email address from being able to sign up to
          any responder.

It's still banned to this day.

Basically no other warrior that uses your service will ever be able
to get me to subscribe to their list or anyone else you choose to ban.

All other responder services ban the spammer.

That likely occurred as well, depends on the circumstances.

Without knowing what your email address is I have no idea
why it may also have been blocked. Hit me offlist tom@ you
know where and I can do some digging.

Typically it's done when someone says they don't want to ever
appear on anyone else's list. If that's not the case then a
mistake might have been made. Humans click the buttons,
            mistakes can happen sometimes.

In my opinion, email deliverability is the key to how effective or otherwise an autoresponder service is and that is why I use Aweber.

Originally, when I started out, I had my own self-hosted autoresponder script but I found many of the emails never made it through the spam filters. I have never had that problem with Aweber.

The MailChimp Terms of Use make interesting reading. I would draw your attention to the bolded words, I quote:

    --- Start Quote ---
Also, there are some industries that send certain types of content that result in higher than normal bounce rates and abuse complaints, which in turn jeopardize the deliverability of our entire system. No offense intended, but because we must ensure the highest delivery rates possible for all our customers, we do not allow businesses that offer these types of services, products, or content:

    Illegal goods or services
    Escort and dating services
    Pharmaceutical products
Work from home, Internet Lead-gen, Make money on online opportunities, etc.
Online trading, day trading tips, or stock market related content
Gambling services, products or gambling education
    Multi-level marketing
    Affiliate marketers
    Credit repair, get-out-of-debt content
    Mortgages and/or Loans
Nutritional Supplements, Herbal Supplements or Vitamin Supplements
    Pornography or nudity in content
Adult novelty items or references in content
List brokers or List rental services
Marketing or sending commercial email without proper permission

Generally speaking, if you're in an industry that is frequently associated with spam, you know who you are (it's probably why you're reading this far, right?). We make no judgments about your line of business, but we cannot afford to risk our deliverability. In fact, most ESPs like MailChimp will not be able to help you. You will most likely need to look into setting up your own mail servers. The term to search on is "email delivery server." There are many industrial strength MTAs to choose from with built-in delivery and reporting tools for high-volume senders.

    --- End Quote ---

I would think the typical online marketer is risking an account ban.

Be careful with iContact as they recently changed their TOS and are not keen on those in the IM niche... I can think of 3 well known Warriors that got their account shut down simply for being in the IM niche... One after sending an email for one of the Ken Strong Charity WSO's (go figure)...

I have been using AWeber, but some time ago, it was unable to deliver to anyone with a comcast.net email address. That included me! I tried to get support around this, but nobody was able to help me. They would respond, but they never got back to me to let me know what was going on with the situation.

I believe I closed my account, but then I opened a new account with them recently for my new business.

I was about to switch to Constant Contact, but they seem more like a newsletter service than an autoresponder service. I don't like their opt in form or the form they send subscribers to after they have opted in.

But I do find CC prettier and easier to use.

I'm impressed with what InfusionSoft can do, but can't justify the price right now. I'm thinking of checking out iContact and GetResponse.

I'm sure I've checked them out before, have checked out many over the years. But I'm wary of continuing with AWeber, not just because of the deliverability issue, but also because of their lax customers service on that issue. To be fair, I tend to shy away from making phone calls and find when I go that route, issues get solved. Could be that I was relying on email only to solve the issue.

P.S. Do stay away from MailChimp if you do affiliate marketing. They ban accounts for that, and I've heard it's very difficult or impossible to get your list back so you can move it to another service.

I've used aweber, icontact, infusion, 1sc, and mailchimp. I am actually liking mailchimp the best lately. aweber is great as well, but mailchimp is really on the cutting edge of integrations and their software is really easy to understand and use and you can do some awesome stuff with segmentation.

aweber is good as well. I know they work hard for their clients as far as deliver rates are concerned. they have for a long time.

Listwire is a good one too, and the best thing is its totally free and is as good as any other paid autoresponder.

In listwire when someone optins they get a page to some kind
