Selling own ebook through site instead of Clickbank

Hey guys:
Kind of a confusing situation here:
So right now I'm selling my own dog training ebook on my site but am doing so through Clickbank. I would like to offer actual visitors to my site the opportunity to buy my book directly from me instead of having to go through Clickbank, and am wondering how I do this?
Is it as simple as creating my own banner and putting it on my site?
As far as Paypal goes, how do I create a PayPal button and link it too my banner?
Gurus I need your help! Thanks in advance.

    Hi lutherlars,

Why would you want to do this?

Yes you could just create a paypal button and that would be sufficient. But by eliminating Clickbank you would be removing the ability to have affiliates sell the product for you....and that is massive.

    Regards

    Chris

    Hey:
    Thanks for response.
I do not want to remove the ClickBank option, I just want to offer visitors to my site the chance to buy my book without going through Clickbank. This brings me to my next question.
Is there a way to raise your listing on Clickbank to closer to the top of your category to make it more visible? Cheers.

The way I understand your question you would probably have to build 2 sites.

If an affiliate sends someone to your site and the customer chooses the PayPal option (since you want both available) then the affiliate won't get the commission they earned.

It's pretty easy to set up a PayPal button. Just visit the Merchant Services tab in your PayPal account. There are also numerous YouTube videos on how to do it.

I think the only way to raise your listing in CB is to have more sales, and more different affiliates getting sales.

One advantage of not using Clickbank is that you won't have to worry about customers purchasing using their OWN affiliate links (although I guess that won't be nearly the same issue in dog training as it is in IM).

If you are using WordPress, it is very easy to sell it yourself using a couple of different plugins. I use (and love) something called WP eStore (which takes care of securing and delivering the e-product) + something called PDF stamper which stamps customer info in the footer of the ebook, reducing the chances of them sharing it freely. The same company (that makes those plugins) also has an affiliate program plugin, so you can even have your own aff program.

      Just my 2 cents

    price..
and at last click to get the paypal button code

You create an ebook graphic/cover of your ebook that will fit into the sidebar. You link it to a sales page in your blog that you create. I use DLGuard software for payment/delivery of my ebooks, but if you don't want to buy DLGuard, you can use ejunkie for that. Both will process the payments through Paypal and provide secure, expiring links automatically to the customer for their download.

Mmm, I think you're missing something fundamental in the Clickbank equation here...

    ...where is your sales page?

I've sent you a PM, with more detail, because I think you've misunderstood what affiliates are looking for!

What the others have said about Paypal is correct, but e-junkie is another option. You can have five products there for...I think it's around $5 a month, flat fee. They also provide you with a way to manage affiliates. ETA: Yes, what Suzanne said.

I have all my products up through either e-junkie or Alertpay (Altertpay's having problems right now, though) because of the high-refund-rate horror stories I've heard from people using Clickbank. Seems like some buyers out there regard everything on Clickbank as free because they know they can get a refund no matter what (or within 60 day, I think). Of course, I don't actually have any products there, so take my opinion on CB with a spoonful of salt.

    Here's what I do.

To combine Paypal and Affiliate sales use Rapid Action Profits. It's a good alternative to Clickbank and even has its own 'RAPBank'!

I wouldn't claim it has the breadth of attraction to a wide range of affiliates looking for products across a variety of niches in the way that Clickbank does, though.
