A Niche You've Never Seen Before .. (Review My Site Please)

Modliteresource.com - Dwarf Car and Modified Lite Resource

I have spent a lot of time putting this site together. It has gone through many changes and etc, but I am finally able to consider it at least 90% finished.

I built the site using Wordpress's popular template; iNove. I think it looks very clean.

Please give me your suggestions on the layout of the site. Also, do you think I have monetized it correctly? What else could I do?

Thanks a lot.

    Hi StealthA00

2 things, your Google adds stick out like a sore thumb, tone them down abit to match your page links above.

Flashing banner, get rid of it or put it at the bottom of your page, reason is it takes your eyes away from your main adds and has nothing to do with the theme of your site, you need to keep it tightly focused and Google will love you for it...

I can see your site when finnished doing well, keep it tightly forcused and up dated, you should be on to a winner.

    Good Luck.

    Nice job
    I agree with Ken-g
Make your adsense ads colors match your site.
The banner ad is out of place because it talks about gambling. I'm sure there are other affiliate products related to Dwarf Cars and other race classes.

The other thing I would change on first glance is the "Page" heading on the right side bar. Change it to something else. "Page" is just too blah

Your web design tab/page is out of place on that site. Definitely out of place on the menu bar. Maybe put it under "Information" and then run a banner on the right column.

The only other thing I would consider to make the site complete would be a rules and regulations section.

Other than that, you've done a super job

A question to ask yourself as you design a site is, "What is my most want response?" Usually for an internet marketer the answer to to make money from the site and for each action the viewer takes lead deeper into the site or to make a sale.

So, if that is the case, do you really want links out to other sites that are not affiliate sites?

To me, if this is primarily an ebay affiliate site, it should not have links out so you visitor leaves via any thing other than an affiliate link or adsense link.

Great content is good, maybe people will come back for that, but sending them somewhere else for great content does not make you money.

Something I just considered having only briefly viewed your website (heading to bed right now!), is your 'call to action' to get visitors to sign up to your email list.

I think just stating 'sign up now for the upcoming newsletter' is pretty weak. Why not offer a better incentive? Perhaps a free guide on related material. If you don't have something like that, even just structuring that call to action differently such that it reflects the benefits of being on the email list. A newsletter is not the "benefit", know what I mean? Maybe the benefit is about some killer tips you provide, or resources etc. Just a tad bit more attention to that one small piece of the whole site can make a difference to getting signups, in my opinion.

    Good luck!

    Like Karen Newton says.

Also make sure each page has its keyword and description metatags properly filled out. Each page should have mostly different metags depending on the page. Use the Platinum SEO Pack plugin for that. Without the domain name including "dwarf cars" you'll need that extra search juice.

Most important, I think it's going to be a good site. It's fun and has all the right content. I look forward to seeing more. Get some of your dwarf car/modding buddies to contribute short articles on topics that interest them. I have never heard of dwarf cars & was quite intrigued. I sure would have liked a brief explanation, but obviously your demo does not require it.

After you have made the changes, the site looks much cleaner and neater.

Wow -- thanks a lot for the quality suggestions.

I fixed the colors on the Google Ads and deleted the Gambling related Ad almost immediately. I will search CJ or elsewhere for Ads relating a little more closely. I have noticed, however, there are literally zero Dwarf Car specifically-related affiliate programs.

I changed the header on the sidebar from "Pages" to "Navigation:". Best I could come up with I'm kind of plain, I guess.

And I moved the Web Design tab to the Sidebar only.

This is my first finished website. I made it ridiculously thorough with information (it took a lot of time) and redesigned the site about 5 times, just to get all of the basics down.

The site is in a small niche and the income potential may be low. There's tons of information on the site, and though I may have went overboard -- I figure if I get a few offers because of this site to design other people's sites in this niche, it would be worth it.

My next step is to fill the site out with some more articles. And at the same time, perfect the SEO for the site (will look in to the Platinum SEO suggestion. I have All-in-one installed but it's not completely filled out, yet. What are platinum's advantages?)

    Thanks a lot, everyone.

Very nice job, StealthA00! Keep posting content and you should start getting some good traffic! Just be patient, though, sometimes it takes a little while for the traffic to build up. Keep at it and I'm sure you'll be happy with it!
