How well do videos convert?

Hey all

Adding a video on a squeeze page, does I really convert well?
Is it waaaay better than a short but sweet message to get an optin?

Personally I don like the videos I oreferto read some text

But that's just me out of 7 billion people

And having a video how crucial is it that a human being is seen? Is t voice with text presented in a clean and neat way not better?
And if a Person, is it better to be you or is it ok to outsource it to get a pretty voice and face?

    it really depends.

    u can play around with all the different factors u brought up.

    that will give u results like no other.

    it works differently i would say.

    for certain sites i may have text that work better and other sites i have video that work better.

    so it depends, u have to try it yourself, no one can tell u what is best for u.

    BUT generally like they say, the internet is moving to video base, eveyrthing, more and more sites are video now a days.

    SO.... its up to u. =)

    Some convert like crazy, and some sit idle on YouTube consuming only hard drive space...

      Bill's exactly right. Sure, videos are being touted as the "next big thing", but just throwing up any ol' video isn't going to cut it. If you have a shoddy video, you're not going to get any more conversions than if you threw a junk article or garbage sales copy on your website.

      Now, that doesn't mean that you have to spend a fortune on some awesome video production. But it does mean that you have to do some simple things - like keeping the "umms" and "uuhhhs" out of it and not relying on those fake computer-generated voices. No one's going to listen to you stumble over your words or listen to robots try to sell them something

    It depends on what you're offering. It's definitely good to do some split testing tho. It wouldn't hurt. As long as the video has a strong call to action, then without a doubt it will convert like crazy. Videos are also loved by search engines and rank really really well so its definitely good to have one on your squeeze page.

    Only way to know for sure is to split test it. Videos work if you've got a great on-screen personality...good copy always works if it connects with the target market.

    I think just as important as the format are the incentive and the traffic that gets to the page.
