Hey everybody...

I've been taking serious 'Action' this weekend.

In addition to building 4-5 landing pages, I've implemented two affiliate programs. Another project I've completed today is setting up a wordpress blog on one of my domains.

The question I have is, how do I insert adsense, banner ads, and misc material in the sidebars? Can I do that from the admin panel? Is it dependent on the theme I have installed? I've got various 'widgets' enabled in the sidebars, but that's all. I have a variety of things I'd like to put in there if I could figure it out.

I appreciate your help, and your wisdom as always.

Some themes have adsense enabled and you just have to ad your publisher id.
The other way is to use a plugin like the one I am using. You can find it at WordPress › AdSense Manager WordPress Plugins

I just activated Adsense Manager a few minutes ago and had a question about it please...

I added [ad#name] to one of my posts and I can see that the text of my post isn't wrapping around the 300 x 250 Adsense block. How can I make the text wrap around it instead of the post text being below the Adsense?

There is a blank white area where the ads should be. Is that normal when adding Adsense to a new site? Does it take a while for Adsense to figure out what to put there?

      Thanks
      Steve

        Hi Steve,
It takes a little while for Google ads to come through for the first time. Also, depending on your set-up in adsense if there are no relevant ads available Google will show public service ads unless you have this disabled during setup in which case you get a bank space. With the text wrapping you have to work with html in your template. The easiest way would be using an html editor like Frontpage or Dreamweaver unless you know your html.
Hope this makes sense and good luck.

You can go to Admin Panel, go to Theme Designer, and click on the sidebar.php (or similar named file). There, you can add the banner ads.

To add Adsense, the easy way is to use the Adsense Deluxe Plugin. Here is the link: AdSense-Deluxe WordPress Plugin Acme Technologies Zeitgeist
    It is free.

Thanks guys. I went with the adsense-manager product above. I'm so used to 'bangin code' that it never occurred to me that there's such an easy solution for this. How elegant!!
