Question: AWeber & Affiliate Links

Hey Everyone,

I have a question concerning AWeber and if it's a good idea (or even possible) to place an affiliate link in the CONFIRMATION URL.

ie: I drive traffic to my landing page and once the prospect clicks the confirmation link in their email it is my affiliate link and redirects them to an
the offer.

Is this even a good strategy?

Can't find any information on the subject...

Thanks in advance

Evan

    Evan,

Not sure of Aweber would allow that or not. Either way, suggest it would come over as a bit too heavy a bit too soon - being hit in the face immediately to be parted from their cash might put your subscribers off.

You might consider directing them to your freebie download page (or whatever) on confirmation and not seeking to hard sell immediately.

    Thanks,

    Andy.

Yeah, you can do that. All you need to do is set your confirmation page to your affiliate link.

As for whether it's a good idea, I would at least stick a squeeze page in there going something along the lines of "Thanks for confirming your email. We've got a special offer for new subscribers today for [offer info]. Click here now to take advantage of this offer, or you'll be redirected automatically in 20 seconds."
