Email capture software wanted for website

Hi all,

I have a website which has hundreds of visitors per week. About 25% of visitors click through to my contact page. Some fill in the form and some just leave the site. That's OK as it is a numbers game.

What I would like to do is somehow be able to collect the email addresses of all visitors to my site so I could send a reply email to thank them for visiting my site. Is there a program or app that can do this - white hat of course.

  • Any of the autoresponder providers will do that. Mailchimp (free up to 2k subscribers), Aweber, Imnica, Get Response, etc

    You will never get the email addresses of ALL your visitors. There's no way of autodetecting that. You can only detect the ip address they are visiting from, which has nothing to do with their email address. That's something they have to be willing to give you.

    • You can use Aweber and combine it with free Contact Pro WP plugin. The plugin will get you each of the contacter's details and send this to your Aweber account.

      Do your visitors leave comments?

      If the above two answers are yes, then I would recommend utilizing the Comment Redirect plugin. After someone leaves a comment you can redirect them to another page...(thank you for commenting, free download, etc.)

      Of course, you should be doing what the others have suggested too and building that all important optin list!
