Amazon (Title Not Available)

Good Evenging guys!

Lately I have been seeing some weird reports from Amazon.com!

I saw an explanation about this earlier, but can't remember the issue and solution.

It would be great to hear your opinion.

Watch the image here.

I noticed that as well on my reports this morning. I'm not really sure what that is all about.

After doing some research I found some information.

Either the product is removed from Amazon's product catalog

    or

Amazon have moved the product listing.

Although, when I click the lnks myself I don't get any kind of link error.

The weird thing is that it happened to many different categorized products.

I'm seeing the same thing only from items with no orders. I clicked each one and they still link to the products I'm promoting. Maybe it's a glitch on amazon's end? It only happend for todays report.

If you are talking about digital - such as reports and ebooks put up on kindle, many were removed because they were just copies of other stuff (such as PLR). If you are talking about physical products - it's Christmas season and they run out of some things and need to restock.

From my experience, even if the product is out of stock my links still work. It happened to 6 different products.

It seems like more people are having the same issues, so I guess it might be related to the holiday.

While this happens regularly with Amazon, it sure does look like a glitch for yesterday as everything had a Title Not Available and there no products that actually had names.

For others, having a few of these each day is normal. When it's not glitching out like now, it means that when someone clicked on your link, they received a 404 error because the product was out of stock or removed. By the time you go to check it, however, it can have been resolved - product restocked or moved back into the lineup - and the link looks normal again.

If you click on the link in the report and it brings up the product, it's fine and you can leave it as-is. If you click on the link and you still get the 404 error, that's what your site visitor will get, too, and you'll want to fix those. The challenge is that when the link gives a 404 error, you don't know the product for which the link is intended.

To find this information, do a search on your site for the 10 digit code that starts with a B (sometimes these can start with another letter). Your WP search function should take you right to the post on which the link is located. If the link is not on a site but is on something like Squidoo, you can do a search in Google for the 10 digit code and see if it comes up. If it doesn't, you can search the source code (right click, View Source) of your lenses or Hubpages, etc, to find the link but you'll have to go through each page until you find the right one.

When you find which product has a broken link, check for another listing of it on Amazon and get a new affiliate link. This is a bit tricky as sometimes your only option is a more expensive 3rd party seller when you really want a lower priced option. You might check the listing again over the next couple of days to make sure you're linking to the best product choice on Amazon.

What I don't know is whether or not your tracking ID sticks if someone clicks on the link that gets a 404 error. Anyone know?

I'd say it could be a glitch in today's reports. Every one of my items with no orders for the month is listed as title not available - and that's close to 50 products that are all currently listed in that section. They showed normally yesterday. And they all still link out to the correct page on Amazon.

Reporting has been glitchy all month. It'll probably be back to normal tomorrow.

After today's report it looks like the amazon cookie sticks, but the problem still continues. Looks like all items with no orders for the entire history is like this.

It's gonna be difficult to sort out the links that actually are broken now

I sent a support request and though I haven't heard back, I imagine that I wasn't the only one to report it to them. Seems to me that after the end of the month, there's always something that's a little off.

As far as the rest of my reports are concerned, they all seem to agree with each other with the exception of my link-type report - it doesn't match up with the rest of them. But if there is a report that I could care less about, it's that one.

Ugh...yes. Have to open each item just to see if it's broken - if I want to go that far. Although, I did find an out of stock item I wouldn't have found otherwise so thanks for bringing this up (off to fix another link).

I checked Amazon's Discussion Boards and there's some mention of others having the problem but no solution.

Just an update - heard back from Amazon this morning. Got the usual 'known issue, we're working on it' response.

Ah, yes...just like my September 30th commissions which still show at 4% while the rest of the month reflected the higher, accurate rate. I've had 3 discussions with them and that one day just doesn't look to be getting fixed any time soon although it, too, is a "known issue".

              Thanks for the update, though!

I've noticed this in my reports for items with no orders as well.

Something else weird is also going on.. My totals under "orders report" and "Link-Type Report" show 6 orders. But when I check the totals under "Daily Trends" and "Tracking ID Summary Report" it says 13 Total items ordered?

Is this happening with anyone else?

yes, happened to me as well.

I seems like amazon has problems with their tracking right now. Could be related to the back friday ruch, don't know.

I've had this happened to me as well. Hope it won't affect the number of orders ordered through my link! This happened in the month of November too.

This happened to me once mid November and also the past two days. Every single item with no order showed as not found even though they are on several sites in different niches. When I click on the link it works. I was getting worried but I see that its not just me.

I'm not sure why you are getting this, but what I do know is they are cleaning out their Kindle store. There was too much rubbish from people trying to make a quick buck. I see that my new Kindle Ebooks take a lot longer before they get approved as well. Luckily none of my existing books have been suspended.

Dec 8th today. Every one of my Amazon links shows as (Title Not Available B00xxxx etc) in the reports. Been that way for over a week. Multiple sites and items. Clicking those links shows all the products are current and available and my Affiliate ID shows up in the address bar just fine. Sales have dropped to zero so it seems to be more than just a reporting problem. Has anyone got a handle on this?

Mine are still showing the Title Not Available issue, too, but it does not seem to have impacted my sales. I'm seeing record volume and activity. Might check your rankings, traffic, or clickthroughs to see if the sales issue is further up the funnel for you, if you haven't already. Or, take a look at the Amazon discussion boards as there are folks mentioning some other reporting issues such as the Orders report being off from the Tracking Id reports although Earnings appears to be accurate.

Mine's still showing the same 'Title Not Available'. However, it does not affect my orders. They are still coming in everyday. Wondering is it some bug? A bit troublesome as I have to click on each link to see what products are being clicked. Anyway, it doesn't matter as long as orders are coming in!
