What is the single most important software to buy?

I am not an internet marketer - I deal in Antique Jewellery and currently have one website with 9 more planned to roll out over the year. The trouble is getting the Google rankings (of course). My SEO position has increased gradually since launching the site but I seem to be putting in far too much time and effort for marginal results.

My question is: If you are interested in promoting an e-commerce site of your own products what SEO software would you consider the most essential. I am not going to buy all of them but need to automate something to save time and efforts.

My current thoughts are either BMD or AMR - any advice would be gratefully received.

Oh - the link to my website is below btw - I can't post a link til I've knocked out 15 posts and I don't like to spam ;-)

    By far, it's an autoresponder.

I personally believe you really can't be successful with online marketing unless you *have* an autoresponder.

So....autoresponder. And don't use the free services - those will stick their ads onto your messages.

    Popular autoresponders are

Email Marketing Software & Email Marketing Services from AWeber
Email Marketing Software & Autoresponder from GetResponse
    etc.

I use aWeber plus roll me own.

    Hope that helps!

I just buy Matt LaClear's linkbuilding services and forget about it. All the sites that I have submitted to his services are high up on page 1 of Google for numerous keywords. Tough keywords will take longer, but they get there. Then I can concentrate on other aspects of my business(es).

I use MATT services too on one of my websites and I'm quite happy with the results so far (2nd month only).

I have a quick question for you sbucciarel: I have paid for the 6 month feed and was wondering once a KW reach page 1, do they stop building links to it until it fall off 1st page or do they just keep building until you change KW? If they keep building that would mean a #1 for many keywords in my case since I have low competition for that niche. (not a big market, testing out)

With the drip feed we do not even track the rankings. So we won't know when your site reaches page one anyways. But the way the drip feed works is you receive at least 100 article links a day for whatever duration of time you signed up for.

I don't think you can get just one single piece of software that can do all your SEO, without spending a LOT of money. (If you did, you could sell it as a WSO).
I'm sure there are some excellent Warriors that could program some software,
or improve on an existing product.
Check in the Warrior Products & Services
of the main forum page Internet Marketing Forums.
or try Elance and other "do it for you" services. Hope this is of help to you,
    regards,

I have never been in the IM fields always services or ecommerce my own products like yourself.

There is a lot more to ranking a site than links nowadays. I know there is going to be people who will say the opposite, that's the beauty of the net. There are many ways of getting the same thing done.

I wouldn't bother learning it, or buying some automated link spammer. Find someone you are comfortable with and let them take care of it and concentrate on your business & site, improving conversions, the visitor experience on your site etc... will pay off more longterm. The costs involved now for outsourced link building are so low anyway.

Yes I do my own SEO and I am pretty good at it. But I have been online since waaaay back.

    Here's two pages to help.

I would always advise a good autoresponder, as the old saying goes, the money is in the list.

However, although this is true, you must also take the time to offer your list advice, and free gifts to build your trust with them.

A couple of answers here have said autoresponder but I don't think that answers your question because you are looking for a software to help with SEO and not trying to increase your profit margin (which I am sure you would love to do but isn't what you asked).

For automation I would recommend SEnuke X. I have been using SEnuke since the first version came out and it is a pretty awesome piece of software.

Also, for a wordpress site I use a custom SEO plugin designed by my programmer for on-site optimization but All in One SEO and Yoast SEO are two pretty good plugins I have used in the past.

Another great Wordpress theme for ecommerce is Colorway.

They have a free version, but I would recommend the $45 paid version.

It is a real time saver for putting together a new site.

I honestly think before you go splashing out that you should look at Traffic Travis.

Let me google that for you

It's FREE and it gives you quite a lot of options for looking for keywords, looking for backlinks and whatnot. Also helps with looking at the competition (basically who ever is above you in the rankings).

    Great little tool.
