Domain name not showing up on a browser

I had an old domain where I developed a forum. I lost interest in it after a while and I had lax registration requirements and I had a lot of bots posting a lot of junk (porn etc). The forum has been done and the hosting has been expired for a while. Now I can't even pull up the www.domainname.com on a browser. Can someone help me figure out how to get the domain name back online so that I could start using the domain name to develop something else.

Do you mean to say the domain has expired ? If this is the case you can anytime renew the domain or can register a new domain.

      No, not domain renewal.

If the hosting is gone, you need to get new hosting and point your nameservers to the new hosting. Domains don't just show up unless they are hosted. When you have a host, change the nameservers and use Add on Domain to add the domain to your host.
