8000+ PLR Articles! What to do with them?

I decided to take a look at what all content I have stored on my hard drive. Just discovered I have over 8000 PLR articles lying idle on it!

Now, these articles are from various niches including self improvement, travel, health and fitness etc. Most of them are good quality - I haven't read through them all but judging from the few I skimmed, at least 85% should be good.

There's no way I can rewrite them by hand myself. Any ideas on how I could use them AS IS? I am not afraid of the 'duplicate content' thingy of the Big G. What could I possibly do with SO many articles?

Setting up niche blogs comes to mind. There was a service that could pull articles on my hard drive and put it up on my WordPress blog - from a fellow Warrior I think. I could use that...?

Any other ideas you have? Would love to hear how I can blow the dust off of this huge pile of digital asset I have

I don't know how much value they would have.

If they are similar to the PLR "mega packs" (20,000 articles) I'm seeing being given away recently.

Are they any good in your opinion?

You could create free products, newsletters, and list builders with them.

Some rewriting will probably be necessary tho.

    Eric,

No, I got them LONG back - probably somewhere in 2007. So it's not part of those mega packs. Good idea about free products and newsletters but as you said, some rewriting would be necessary

Wrangle them into 800,000 new articles, and sell them in chunks of 100,000. Or create a massive network of unique blogs to promote whatever it is you actually sell.

There are many things you could do. You could put together short reports and sell them or set up an autoresponder membership site that delivers a learning course - using the PLR material. You can put together free reports to pre sell or brand yourself/business. Create niche blogs with the PLR content. You're only limited by your imagination!

Jon, Lisa - thanks for your suggestions

I am trying to look for something more automated though. Working ON the articles would take up quite a lot of my time - something that is scarce right now..

  • you can upload them in bulk to wordpress using a tool called PlrToWordpress

and then see if they bring any seo traffic, maybe not without rewriting, but it's better than having them sit on your hard drive!

And you could also pull ebay feeds or amazon products related to the articles or something else to make the pages a bit unique.

    good luck.

      1. Locate ones that come with giveaway rights.

      2. Build a squeeze page

      3. Advertise your squeeze page, promoting your newsletter that if they sign up, they'll be able to download all the PLR that you display.

      4. Locate or buy more PLR with giveaway rights.

      5. Each time you send out broadcast, upload the fresh batch of PLR and give it away to your list. Be a nice guy and generous, don't require log-in, make it easy for your list to download. This keeps your list happy and responsive.

      6. Archive your newsletters on your blog, but download link will say, "Subscribers only link" so people will sign up for your newsletter from your blog.

      Optionally,

You can write non-PLR, original report that provides very valuable information, preferably on popular topic and add it to your squeeze page. (Example of this is a report I've written and you can download it here) -- the amount of details you can provide through these reports really build relationships with your list.

You can create OTO as an upgraded membership. This way, when you want to give away PLR materials that come with rights specifying that you can only "add as bonuses to paid product", you could give away these (just read the license carefully and if you have questions, write to the owner).

      You'll start building list quickly.

Check out the blogging method I posted here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...an-before.html

Each of those articles could be a page in the serps, getting you traffic, subscribers, clicks, or whatever.

I too have a vast library of PLR that I'm whipping into shape and putting to work with this method as well.

    Hope that helps!

I read somewhere in this forum that a fellow warrior makes 100K selling website from PLR content. You can do that too. Create website using x site pro and sell it at sitepoint.

You can expect to sell it $100-$200 per website. Let's say you have 100 articles for one website.

    With 8000 articles you can create 80 websites. 80X200 = $16,000

The good news is you can use that articles again and create other websites again the next month or quarter since you might need 2 or 3 months before your websites sold out.

    (12:3)X16,000 = $64,000

But that's not bad actually even though you only manage to sell the websites every three month. In the end of year you can make $64,000 additional income!

    Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

@ProductCreator: You're spot on with your advice there. This IS something that I am trying to get involved in - business wise. I'd like to add a revenue stream that I can put on autopilot as far as possible and hence my question

@Keith: Your thread ROCKS. I've set aside a couple of articles already to apply it. Thanks a lot man.

@Oracle: It'd be interesting to see how that works out. Thanks for your idea

@myob: Paul, why didn't I think of that?!? Lol. Thanks.

@AlexShelton: Rewriting PLR content IS profitable. But, it really depends on HOW you use the rewritten material. There are marketers (including many Warriors) who make a killing by rewriting PLR content. Richelo Killian had a gread thread on the old WF about profiting from PLR Content. Here it is: The Warrior Forum - My Step By Step To $3K in 2 weeks

He is using public domain, but I think the idea also can be applied to PLR content

just take the pain to rewrite some of this articles , just change some few element in them , then they be come unique ... starting submitting to article site like elance ... and have a link back to your site to the submitted article .. with this you will see some spike in traffic
