We all know how challenging it can be initially starting out online.

A lot of you probably got started because you heard some "guru" say you could make a lot of money fast and retire young (were all young at heart)

Truth is you can make a lot of money and retire young but it surely does not happen overnight so please try and erase that thought moving forward. If your desperate than this is not for you.

Here's How You Should Approach IM

Everything seems to be moving a million miles a minute! Most have no idea where to start. Your always hearing about the new "hot system" so you buy in, only to hardly implement a thing and move onto the next one.

-Instead focus on 1 System
-Learn as much as you can about that system
-Implement as much as you can
-Stick with it for at least 30 days
-Don't try working on any other systems (yet)
-Learn from your mistakes & your successes

Your stuck because you don't have direction. It happens to the best of us so don't worry it is fixable.

A few months back I went as extreme as deleting my whole hard drive of IM Junk I had been collecting the past year, and unsubscribed from practically every email newsletter I was receiving...

Why?

So I could focus on 1 project and put all my efforts into that.

Guess what?

It paid off!!

I know it can seem overwhelming and intimidating but you will learn fast if you are willing to try. Utilize the knowledge on the Warrior Forum and try to help others and the good karma will come back around.

Good luck guys!

I recently unsubbed from all my lists as well. With a hard drive full of WSOs it's tough to just delete em though!! I finally threw mine into a folder on my desktop marked "WSOs" and refer to it from time to time. It definitely helps to unclutter your desktop and stop buying though, good advice

      Thanks Mike!

The trick certainly helps eliminate "brain clutter"

Just trying to help give some of the new guys a better idea on the approach they should be taking.

      People are easily misguided online

Good call I unsubbed and streamlined everything I was focusing on and also automated my email responses so I am only seeing "read now email" and it is limited to once a day.

Why would you tell people not to dream big and try to make fast success a reality?

If you don't go for it - it definitely will not happen.

  • i think focusing on one thing is really good......... but we have to be updated with all the technologies........ and try to learn and earn more from all over the places in our niche.....

when we think big and if we have the determination then we can do lot of simultaneously.... well m doing SEO.... but i also want to learn Internet Marketing .... then why should i not go with both..... if i can earn threw IM alomg with my SEO... then its good for me... also increasing my knowledge too..........

You must have misinterpreted my words!

I am telling people that you "can"...but don't expect it to happen overnight like I said...

    Thank you for the encouragement.

I'm a newbie and a member of NPC but I'm so stuck with the problems in their program and not getting help.

Can you recommend a good step by step program on how to buildup a website linking affiliates?

I don't know how to setup a website so I need video demo - I'm devoted and a quick learner.

    Thanks.

I am in no way affiliated with NPC but when I first got into IM I used there program and I'm glad that I did. Whether you think creating lots of niche sites is a good way to go (and I'm not sure that it is) they do teach the fundamentals of IM such as the importance of autoresponders, how to generate traffic for your site, how to get affiliates for your products, product creation etc.

I would stick with them for awhile at least and really try and get a comprehensive understanding of what they are trying to teach you before moving on to a new system.

FitnessNut, thank you. How do I get your pm? You can tell how naive I'm with WF.

ProScribe, I do like NPC and Adam is an excellent teacher. The problem is, when I run into problems (the last 2 weeks since they outsource), I'm not getting help from tech support, and just waiting for a miracle to come through my email box. When the help came in (twice in the last 2 weeks) were to reset my website, and I lost all that I had worked for, and had to start from scratch.

I posted a request for help on NPC forum, and someone deleted. I'm also hoping this would get Adam Short's attention to help out.

I don't mind starting over with a new program as long as help (with right answers) is available.

The percentage of people who make LOTS of money with IM without putting in many months or even years of experimenting and failing is probably in the single digits range.

I think the trick is to find a way to make money online, that gives you even a small return on your investment of time or money, then find a way to scale it up in a cost effective way.

Once you figure that out, you are on your way...

"Your" should be "you're" in several of your sentences. If you practice proper grammar, people will buy in to what you're saying more often. It's extremely hard to take you serious when grammar hits a rock-bottom low.

Thanks for looking out. I think "you're" opinion is terribly negative towards the general conduct that this forum tries to promote

Although "seriously" would be correct in that instance, it still doesn't justify FitnessNut's horrible grammar in his paragraph. I think one can often confuse adjectives from adverbs.

        • Rather horrible grammar and an amazing willingless to help others, than a horrible attitude and an apparently maniacal desire to wreck the credibility of and knock the confidence of others.

Also in my humble little opinion...

Tiny grammatical errors or typos on a mere forum posting have no bearing whatsoever on one's view of a person...Not, at least, when we are referring to sensible, reasonably sane minded "normal" people.

If the aforementioned breaches of "grammar police" protocols were left uncorrected in a professional document, sales page or educational reference paper on behalf of the grammatical societies gold standard grammar department, then I would indeed concur that there was an issue.

But those who have issue with such minutia, seriously, save yourself the palpitations that will surely ensue after reading the near illegible scrawlings of those of us who have such an incongruous grasp of the English language, that we can only just to say communicate the surely impulsive thoughts that rattle around our near empty cranium cavities. Maybe go and seal yourself into a thesaurus in a literary depertment of a university somewhere and save yourself the ignominy of ever risking perchance to breath the same air as us.

          Still here?...Why.

If it's to share and to learn then let's get to it, we are all equal here!

First question I should ask, if I am gonna get my head around this community and learn to use it for self education instead of voyeuristically lurking in the shadows is:

How do I thank a member in a thread?

I see that others have done it, yet can find no button or widget to facilitate this seemingly simple endeavour.

My friend I think that my first question ever on WF demonstrates in no uncertain terms that when I state that I am learning the basics I am in no way exaggerating.

Clearly I did not edit the Thread. Typically I have a word processor that takes care of these stupid little errors for me but we are on a forum...ahheemmmmm

What is disheartening is how some tend to try and knit-pick little grammatical errors in a FORUM!!! Instead of paying attention to the message. I think most would agree it is a pretty clear & easy read.

Next time I'll call on one of you skilled editors before I try and make a thread specifically for the purpose of helping other people

Incredibly annoying how some people wreck an amazingly useful thread like this through the lack of an apostrophe or a misplaced semi-colon.

Now: those of us who are looking for decent advice right at the outset of our IM lives have to wade through twice as many messages to get the same info.

To those of you who are insensed by FitnessNut's flagrant and reckless abandon of the English language and all of the encapsulated rules therein...

You are the child chewing popcorn a little too loudly in the cinema, You are the big guy who really should've worn deodorant before occupying the adjacent seat and you are the teen talking twice as loud as necessary throughout the funeral.

I wish no ill will to you guys, and hate that it bugs you so much, but the fact that you revel in it whilst grabbing your pound of flesh in forum column inches BUGS ME!

Yes I get the irony of my post so far. LOL

Keep up the cool posts FitnessNut, I for one appreciate the effort, especially when it is aimed at the inexperienced who need a little extra *something*.

I also think that peeps who highlight gramatical flaws or other flaws for that matter, with the intention of making you look dumb are trying to mask their own insecurities...

There are truly few less repulsive qualities that one could display.

Well, I have read (and had a laugh or two) this thread, and found it very helpful, including the spelling and grammar mistakes unintentionally made.
There is a dictionary online, and I'm sure that we could all have (myself included) some electrocution  lessons. [elocution]
We just have to speak proper like and take the time to profo reeed the riting we did, b4 pisting.

    BTW: I don't like your T-shirt either.

As for being an IM forum, you are correct.
I apologise in advance, however, I like to have a little "dig" now and then

    No offense intended.
    Thankyou for this thread.

How can you make a newbie to focus on only one project where there are 100s of WSO's that will make you 1000s of visitors over night or $1000 of dollars in a few days.

It is hard and I think you need experience that you know you only need to focus on one project at a time.

Great advice, and I agree with almost all of it. In the newbie stage you have to expose yourself to as much as you can and see what attracts or appeals to you the most. Then I whole heartily agree to commit to that chosen field 110% There is the argument for information overload, been there still doing that on occasion.

Rather than looking at information overload, change the way of thinking to product elimination, meaning explore the many options out there and find what appeals the most.

Build a blog or a web site,

    Email or article marketing,

Affiliate or membership programs or both.

Once the most appealing method of marketing has been found, then go for it like a runaway train!

It just seems that a newbie won't know what is the best marketing method to devote their time to unless they expose themselves to as many as possible..

    Just my thoughts though

We've all been newbs in our time, and if we're ever to advance as 'warriors' we constantly need to be open to fresh ideas. That effectively means we become newbs ourselves.

The thing that makes a true marketing warrior is the ability to pick up on something quickly and monetise it fast.

So good work FitnessNut, keep it up

Fitness nut. Great post. I think it should be a sticky!!!

All the time newbies are coming in here saying the same thing and your post covers it. I was one of those "newbies".

Once I focused on one thing, for me it was list building (the only thing I felt I hadn't tried yet but all the gurus said was where to be) things really started to change.

Even though I had ran many successful offline businesses in the last many years, I was looking at IM totally differently with all the headlines promising easy, fast money.

It's like the book "The Millionaire Dollar Minute". Yes, they did indeed make over a million in a minute but it took a team of people over a year and a lot of money to have everything set up to have a huge audience and a great offer that would sell to that audience in order to make that much money in one minute.

Thanks again for all the "newbies" out there.

And as for the couple grammar errors.....I didn't even notice them until they were pointed out. I personally try to use correct grammar and spelling but in my hurry to post on forums between everything else I'm doing, I sometimes miss this type of thing myself. No biggee.

    :-)

I think you can learn a lot from wsos but I would approach IM as a long term business not a get rich quick scheme and concentrate on list building, traffic and product creation as they are the basics for any Internet marketer.
