I Really HATE Article Spinning

My article goes "live" on Ezine and in less than 12 hrs I Google the title and guess what? No less than THREE "versions" of my article appear in Google search, right below my original.

Except, each one is a "spun" version that totaly ignores Ezine Terms of Use, and - even worse - reads like garbage after being pssed therough some article spinner software. I mean the phrasing is pure garbage - unitelligible.

At least my name isn't associated with that crap.

Anyone who uses "article spinning" must be really desperate or nearly illiterate, because I don't understand how anyone would post such junk on their own blogs.

Reported both with DMCA violation notices - hope the Google de-indexes them quickly.

    Hi,

I think you're referring to the scraping/autoblogging styles of evil Be happy that your quality content will stand the test of time while better ways to weed out the junk are developed daily.

Spinning your own content can be useful for second and subsequent level link building, etc.

Yea, I agree with above... if your name's not on it, awesome. The quality of the original (yours) will stand out above the spun garbage.

I used to hate that (I've since stopped doing article marketing all together)! I think the whole syndication thing is way overrated.

First of all, I've found that 8 times out of 10 your resource box is either excluded, or the link replaced with the publisher's own affiliate link. Secondly, there are WP plugins that automatically pull articles and spin them, and they are usually HORRENDOUS!

I used to try to email the blog or website owner but most don't respond. I guess you could send them a DMCA notice, but even that is pretty much useless when it comes to "article theft".

And yet none of your comments actually relates to "the whole syndication thing" at all - you seem to be discussing only "passive syndication from article directories" as if it were "the whole syndication thing"? It isn't.

I've always found it extremely useful, myself - for me, it very promptly takes care of the problem about 99% of the time.

I don't know about that - I've seen some pretty amazing results if it's done right.

These plugins should be totally banned as controlled substances - the way they enforce drug smuggling in Singapore.

You are right - but Google does take this seriously and they have streamlined the process - already was notified of action taken on behalf of my 1st complaint filed on Nov 30

They do indeed ... and hosting companies do, too, nowadays.

The idiots who do this are a pain in the neck, of course. They're all people who won't still be in business a year from now, but they'll have been replaced by others repeating their mistakes.

To be honest, the two things that irritate me about this situation are ...

        (i) I have to share a "profession" with these people and can get tarred with the same brush as them: we're all "internet marketers", after all; :p

(ii) Some people advance this situation (which very rarely does you any harm, anyway) as a "reason not to do article syndication" or "a downside of article syndication", which of course it isn't at all.

If you look around you might find that most professions are the same way.
          Good doctors - bad doctors
          Good lawyers - awful lawyers
          Good engineers - incompetent engineers
          Etc

You can't do much about it as long as people generalize but I think a person that recognizes value will hang on to you if he/she sees you're good at it. At least that's what I do in my day to day life. It only makes sense that people on the internet follow the same tendency.

Also are your subscribers seeing you as an Internet Marketer or as a Couliflower Soup Expert? If they see you as an expert... then I don't think they would speak bad about rather than trust you?!

    I understand you.
A month a go someone copied my article with the whole resource box, spun it and left the resource box in the "new" article.
He also made a comment (automatic of course) on my original blog.

I spin articles myself. But you know what the difference is? I dont use ANY WORDS from the original article. I also never use more than 1 or 2 sentences from one article.

I also write and spin multiple titles that myself, so they have no relevance to anyone elses articles.

Spinning content is a bit of an art form, to make sure you get what you want, without harming anyone else.

I guess some people just aren't as responsible as others.

I don't quite understand - that doesn't sound like "spinning" - it sounds like you are writing a new article - perhaps on the same subject. I have no problems with that.

The cases I am talking about took my article and exchanged a few synonyms here and there, and "rephrased" sentences so they became senseless - and then removed my name and all my links. I think it was all done by a program - no human could be that dumb.

I hope no one here is selling those article spinning software programs and convincing people that they will be safe from Google because they changed the content.

I use software to spin content, but I do half of it manually so stupid things like what happened to you doesn't happen.

using a tool to spin content just speeds up the process. You can make spun content that is perfectly readable and makes sense if you spend the time and do it correctly.

I also don't re write the articles all by hand, I use a special spinning tool thats ive configured to do it for me.

I guess people think they can buy the software and press 1 button and its all done, when in actual fact its not. Gives spinning a bad name.

Article spinning can be as tedious and time consuming as actually having to write an original article, if the goal is to produce high quality content. Its better to write your own stuff, but can understand how someone with "good intent" may just become lazy over time or just have too much to handle where these "autospinners" just take over. Not saying it's right but perhaps sheds some light on the mindset of the article marketer who decides to eventually scrape content.

    Agreed Landro.

I think that spun articles play their role in SEO, but NOT for a money page. I would never put spun articles on my main website. Spun articles should be used for SEO purposes and thats it.

You can actually spin an article while if you spin it manually. Go over every single word. Rewrite whole sentences. Then you could actually produce a good few unique articles.

Yeah, but do you know what's better than reading something what was copied, and cuckooed, and cycled, and dittoed, and doubled, and duplicated, and dwelt, and echoed, and geminated, and harped, and ingeminated, and interpreted, and iterated, and paraphrased, and parroted, and perennial, and perseverated, and quoted, and ran over, and recapitulated, and recited, and recurred, and recurrent, and reduplicated, and reechoed, and regurgitated, and reiterated, and rendered, and reoccurred, and rephrased, and replicated, and reprised, and reprized, and reproduced, and restated, and resumed, and retold, and reworded, and summarised, and summarized, and summed up, and took over, and translated?

Reading the exact same thing said differently over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

      [record scratch]

Wait, those things aren't different! They're the same!! (Uh Oh)

Spun article does look like garbage. But articles which are spun well - atleast have correct grammar, then they can rank well. Google does not look for stories it looks for content relevancy. Also tools like senuke and AMR overkill the articles with submission to so many directories and web 2.0 sites. But as someone above posted your ezine will stay on top.

Article spinning (the use of software to create gibberish) will at some point taper off as the Internet marketers (I use that term very very loosely) begin to realize its there actual use of the software that is the cause of the futility of their results.

The problem is people start threads on credible forums like WF and speak openly advocating the use of it, giving tips and advice, (like the practice and topic actually has merit) these threads introduce a new batch of "dupes" to look into it and experiment with it.

The fact that some article spinner used your article and now show up in the search for "the title of your article" does not mean that they actually get into the results for legitimate searches like your original article does/will,

I admit, it is extremely irritating to discover nevertheless. That they couldn't at least write their own original article to spin just shows the caliber and brain pan size of such fools.

    Hello,
Don't spin. Retype the PLR articles or better still, combine several of the articles and retype them into one article. You will normally get it posted on the article directories. Spinning is good though, especially for creating tons of backlinks submitting to several articles directories

I'm starting to have that problem with ezinearticles. They'll approve my article and then re-evaluate it months later and find a "spin" version of it somewhere and then I get flagged.
It takes me a few extra steps to contact them, show them the original blog post it came from, and then I get approval again.

My post moves 'stay' on Ezine and in less than 12 hours I Google the name and imagine what? No less than THREE 'variations' of my post seem in Google research, right below my unique.

That totaly disregards Ezine Terms of Use except, each one is a 'spun' edition, and - actually worse - says like trash after being pssed therough some article generator application. I suggest the text is real trash - unitelligible.

At least my title isn't connected with that garbage.

Since I don't know how anybody might publish such crap on their own sites anybody who uses 'report rotating' should be actually eager or almost illiterate.
