Hi

I'm into info product business online. My biggest challenge is to make sale from the traffic although i am selling $17 ebook on a particular niche. As i learned from this forum that without list bulding and building relationship with customers it is almost impossible to sell info products these days. I wonder how much truth in it? Do people in this forum make sales from their information product without list bulding?

Thanks

    Hi giddu,
Having a list is having a good source of traffic. This does not annul other sources of traffic. A good SEO practice on your site can give you great sales from natural traffic as this will be quite targeted.

It possible to make a sale from your product with list, but you will be losing a lot cos some will not buy from you at the first visit and if you don't collect their details, you will lost them for ever cos they might not even remember the name of your website.
But if you have their details you can always promote your product via email anytime, the truth is that most will never buy a product until between the seventh or tenth email before they make up their mind to buy from you. Hope this help...

If you have good traffic coming to your site and you're NOT capturing their information, shame on you. At the very least, offer a free chapter with an opt-in.

Sure you can sell the product without list building but that is much more difficult. My wife wrote a great ebook last year about profitable garage sales and at first we started just selling it without generating any opt-ins. Then once we offered a free chapter for opting in and implementing a simple autoresponder, sales went up substantially.

You will leave a lot of money on the table if you don't collect their email addresses. You can continually sell to your list with products on the same niche. However, you could sell an info product to the traffic that comes to your site, however it's just a minor adjustment in scripting which would easily collect their email adresses. iContact allows you to manage up to 500 subscribers for free. A great place to start ;-)

    Goodluck selling.

Building lists work. There's no need to fight that. It's been proven time and time again. Can you make an online income without a list? Well sure you can. But, you wouldn't be capitalizing on your sales opportunities. Building a list isn't rocket science and it can only help. Why not do it?

Of course you can still make money. You just have to rely more on the search engines. You just have to make sure you position yourself properly and put out unique, quality content and to promote quality products that the people in your niche are searching for.

    Good luck,

Sure, you can make sales of a product without list building. The issue is, once you've made one sale, why not sell something else to the same buyer? That, you can't do without list building.

The IM/Make money niche is so so big that trying to attack it with SEO and search engine traffic is very difficult. Even sub-niching it.

SEO works in many niches but not well in IM info.

There is a completely different model for this. It's product launch and JV with list.

You won't see massive product launches in many other niches because they are not big enough or set up to them.

However where SEO does not work well with IM/make money, lists do work well with pretty much all niches. At least any niche where the buyers may buy more than one product.

Funerals may not benefit much from a list.

You may make a few dollars in IM info without a list but you will make 10-100 (+) times more with a list.

Not only can you sell again and again to the same buyers but you can use the list to JV which steps into a whole new league.

List or no list, you should be making sales.

    Look at your product;

    * Does it fill a real need? Are there hungry buyers?

    * Are you filling a gap in the market? "Me too" products rarely sell.

If you're happy with your product, check your sales page:

    * Are you covering the benefits, rather than the features?

    * Do you BELIEVE in your product? (If you don't, buyers will sense it.)

$17 isn't much. Can you add additional material to make your product worth $47 or $97?

    If you can, do that.

Here's what I'd do: I'd create a new product. Sometimes products just don't fly, and that's fine. Everyone has the occasional dud. Let it go.

Focus on something new. You should always be creating. Have a new product in the works whenever you launch.
