Best SINGLE OPT-IN Email Delivery Service?

There are so many email delivery services out there, it's hard enough to decide which one to go with since I've never done email marketing before.

Add to that, I need something single opt-in (since my list is already built), makes things even harder.

What is everyone using these days for single opt-in and getting awesome service/delivery?

Please advise, going to sign up tonight

PS: I would like to be able to upload my current list directly. I was thinking about using Mail Chimp but I believe they require double opt-in... I need something that will let me upload my already built up list.

icontact allows you to do that.

Do they have pretty good delivery rates?

What about Aweber, would they allow me to upload directly?

Yes, Aweber will allow you to import contacts BUT every single one of those contacts will be sent a confirmation email and you will only be able to email those who reconfirm to be on your list. You will find this is pretty much standard practice with all the good autoresponder companies. They don't want to risk their backside so they will always make subscribers reconfirm so they have an audit trail should anything go wrong.

You can't blame them. Otherwise people could just import lists of people they have purchased somewhere and it would destroy the autoresponders delivery rate.

I know this thread is old, but I thought I'd chime in on this.

Aweber wants to know that your list is clean and legit, but they do not necessarily need everyone to confirm optin.

I recently had a client who's list was largely collected with a physical sign up sheet at street fairs. Once this client explained it all to Aweber and they asked a few questions, they let him import his list with out a need to confirm.

Remember that there are real people behind these services. They just want to cover their asses. Talk to them, explain your list and if it's legit there is a good chance you'll simply be able to import it.

I'm kind of in the same boat as you, I'm just trying to figure out which one to use. Haven't got a list to include. Some of the double opt-in ones, will allow you to ad your list if you contact their support.

Also.. been scared of of Aweber by threads like this ONE. People claiming their delivery rate as dropped.

I've never had a problem with their deliverability rate. From what I understand aweber doesn't allow you to import lists, maybe someone more familiar with their service can clarify but that is always what I've heard.

    Hey simmonsmike7,

I would recommend for you to use GetResponse.com, you can upload your lists in your account and you have the option to put it on Single Opt-in so you don't have to re-confirm your imported subscribers.

There are others but if you want good deliverability rates, use GetResponse

    Cheers

I'd expect the best single opt-in services, for deliverability, are likely to be GetResponse and Aweber (I happen to use Aweber for all my single opt-in lists). But those two are also probably going to be among the strictest for "importing lists". Those two things are connected, aren't they? You can see that the less strict a service is about this, the worse their deliverability is going to be?

I strongly suspect that there may be some rather "optimistic" perspectives expressed in this thread.

It's very difficult to believe that any established autoresponder company is going to have an "open doors" policy to anyone wanting to import a single opt-in list without sending re-confirmation requests. I wouldn't want to be a customer of an autoresponder service that did that, myself. Would you? (Their deliverability might not be very good?). They have rules about these things to protect themselves and their other customers.

It's conceivable that Aweber might allow such a list to be imported, but I'll be amazed if they allow it without an initial re-confirmation request.

GetResponse has an interesting facility available, with which they test a small proportion of the list before determining whether or not it's acceptable to them. This might be a good option, perhaps, in these circumstances?
