Hi, I've been doing some SEO and producing plenty of content for my IELTS English site. IELTSwritingtask dot net

Any ideas to improve it? Any recomended developers?

I offer essay correction but it's a job, not an income stream.

My plan is to create more posts get a following, get some good google juice, then put it all into an e-book and sell it. -Any opinions?

Cheers, Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ben

Just to clarify, is this e-book going to be on Essay correction, SEO, or getting 'some good google juice', as you've so aptly put it?

As you do essay correction as a job, I'm sure whatever content you will produce will probably be of a high standard, but you'll then need to consider the following - what will your e-book offer that your site currently doesn't, and what will people be prepared to pay for this?

    Hey Trivium,

The e-book will be on 'How to pass the IELTS English Writing task', and will be made from articles and exercises posted previously on the site.

The essay corection is something I do meantime for a little bit of cash.

Good point, whether they'd be willing to pay for it after having it for free.

My plan was that the ebook would collate it all together, and I'd take off some of the content that was on the blog.

    Do you think it'd work?

You have to present your eBook as a worth buying brand. It has to offer such tips which are not found else where.

For selling it contribute to educational forums, web sites such as help/q & a sites anderite effective posts on blogs as well as article directories. Also do mot forget to add some videos on YouTube, etc.

you can also try adwords..mm to jot just rely on SEO alone.

      Hi Ben,

That plan is still fine - especially if the content of your blog and articles lends itself to be readily collated into an e-book. However, some people will have difficulty justifying the purchase of an e-book if all its content is free.

One way around this would be to add additional content to the e-book that is not included online, and perhaps also to augment the existing information from the blogs with added tips and/or commentary. This means that there is unique content in the e-book, in addition to the collation of blog posts/articles, and this will add value to it, and convince more people to buy it.

Also, if you plan on collating the blog posts, are you going to mention that the e-book is a collation of blog posts, and market it as such? If not, and you want it viewed as more of a collection of good ideas and advice based on the site, then it might be an idea to re-work and re-word the blog-posts slightly, adjusting the tone and language as necessary to suit the image of the book. Don't spend too much time on this however, just make enough changes to get the desired effect, and no more.

I only say all this, because if your e-book is of high quality, if you decide to release another (say, if you want to make this a yearly release), then they will be more inclined to purchase that too. Image and reputation is very important when starting out, so it pays to put a little more effort into polishing your content.

Sounds like a good idea though, and should pay off well if you pull it off. Good luck!

        Good advice Trivium,

I think I'll have to shorten/re-work some future posts and specifically spell out that the ebook offers much more than what's on the blog.

I'll also start pushing and pitching the ebook more often.

Cheers, after this 'sesh' on the forum, pretty motivated again!!!

I would advise to place your sales page as your index page.

1.Get your ebook and sales page ready and put it on ieltswritingtask dot net.
2.Next task would be getting traffic. Create a sub-directory ieltswritingtask dot net / blog.
3.Now install wordpress in this directory. Post content here and drive traffic to your blog.
4.Install exit pop-up plug-in and redirect your readers to your sales page when they try to leave.
5.If they try to leave without buying, offer them 1 chapter of your ebook as sample of your ebook. You can ask them to opt-in to your list or can give it as it is by redirecting visitors from sales page to ebook sample download page.

Without any doubt I feel this strategy will work better

    Big thanks faust and nrupen,

I'm going be more active on the educational forums - cost efective way to drive traffic, good idea.

I do need to separate them (blog, sales page) - another good idea, I'll look for the exit pop-up now, any recommendations?

    Cheers guys,

Glad to hear that . This forum is by far the most active forum I've ever been a part of, and everyone seems to be clamouring to offer advice. I've only been here a day, but already I've found the community very welcoming.

Glad I could help, and if you have any other questions, I'll do my best to give you an answer. All the best!
