Hi, After a lot of time I've managed to set up Feedburner. A few of my blog posts have appeared on there but I have no idea how to use Feedburner. I want to send my blog out to lots of sites but don't know where to start My Feedburner is linked (?) to my Wordpress blog. Can anybody tell me what the next step is? :-)

Submit your RSS feed to appropriate RSS directories. I just Googled 'Submit my RSS feed' and here is a list of 55:

55 Active RSS Directories to Help Promote Your RSS Feeds!

Would it make more sense to use a site such as Bulkping which submits to RSS directories as you only have to enter the info once instead of visiting each site?

GREAT GREAT Stuff. Seems like that is exactly what I've spent 8 hours looking for LOL. In all i've spent a week trying to set up RSS. Feedburner seems like the simplest so far. If somebody would be kind enough to explain these 2 phrases to me i would be grateful:
      1) Once you've burned your
      2) WP feed (ususally domain.com/feed)
I have a good idea but I want to be sure. As I said, I have spent a week on this LOL
      Thanks again for the help,
      :-)

        1) just means you've added/redirected your feed to FeedBurner

2)WordPress has a built-in rss feed. Type this in your browser <yourdomain>.com/feed
You should see a list of your feed posts. If you've successfully redirected (burned) it to FeedBurner you should see your FeedBurner feed.

In addition to PingShot I like to use these options from the Optimize tab:
        BrowserFriendly
        SmartFeed
        FeedFlare (content distribution links)
        Feed Image Burner

You can use various pinging services but if you want to keep it simple to begin then just do the following. Once you've burned your WP feed (ususally domain.com/feed) to FeedBurner, click on the Publicize tab then PingShot then Activate. PingShot is a feature of FeedBurner that automatically updates participating feed aggregators, search engines and directories to let them know there is new content on a particular feed.

You may want to also use the FeedBurner Feedsmith plugin which will redirect users subscribing from you blog to the FeedBurner feed.

You should also set up your Feedburned feed so that visitors can subscribe by email. Provide them with every option to read your "stuff".

Don't forget to enable email subscriptions so Google can mail your blog updates to the list

I don't understand what 'feed' is or how to 'add/redirect it to Feedburner'

I have typed 4 different phrases into browser for this and none of them worked. here is my Wordpress address. Is that any ????????

    Happinessguru's Blog | Just another WordPress.com weblog

We assumed you were hosting your own WordPress blog (i.e. wordpress.org) but you're using wordpress.com which is a totally different beast. So your feed should be happinessguru.wordpress.com/feed
then take a look at Promoting your FeedBurner feed on your WordPress.com site - FeedBurner Help
