How would you monetize this?

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the gaming niche.

I've been in it for a while and have built a fairly decent reputation that will likely grow exponentially over the next 12 months.

Well...

I'm not a fan of affiliate networks, ppc, or cpa when it comes to gaming. They are profitable, but not the direction I want to go in.

So.

How would you monetize the gaming niche, with your own product, service, course, etc.?

P.S. We're talking about lists of 200,000+ gamers here. So you can see why I'm excited to monetize it.

Write your own cheat sheet guides or re-synthesize others' works. Just be aware that several online game cheat products on Clickbank were shut down a while ago after being sued be the game makers on the basis of copyright violation, I believe for the screen shots they used.

You are missing out not using CPA offers for game downloads/signups.

      1. Find a game that pays you for sign-ups that is similar to games that people in your niche are interested. Promote it to them as "Just like game X but free MMO online".

      2. Profit

I'm not "missing out" on this, because I've already done it and profited greatly.

The point is, I don't like this type of monetization for my niche.

I feel comfortable with this niche and they enjoy what I have to say.

So I want to figure out a way to profit without going in the direction of cpa, affiliate, and ppc.

@Webapex, yea, I don't know if I want to go that route. I'm moreso looking into a way of monetizing the entire niche as a whole. Or atleast general areas (FPS, MMORPG, etc.)

@Felicia, you must not have read my entire post

If you can gain that kind of following in the gaming niche, you can contract with the providers of new games that come out on all major consoles and sell games directly from the manufacturer to your email lists/website viewers. Establish a small eCommerce website that sells a select few games that you consider the most popular games.

I realize that this might be a bit unreasonable, but I think anyone with 200,000 email subscribers (that can compete with the likes of popular gaming stores) can deal with the same wholesale providers/direct dealers that Amazon and other websites deal with.

Or you can do the regular thing and just open up a blog, provide valuable content about the latest games on the market, and wait until the big gaming companies start contacting you for ad placements on your website

Maybe even open up a forum alongside the blog on the same domain name.

I've tested all of these strategies (thanks for responding).

As for selling games online. It's really interesting. I've done studies with my niche and 80% of them would prefer to buy their games offline (by going directly to GameStop or BestBuy) because they want to be able to hold the game, today.

As far as a blog goes, I'm already in that direction as well and it does great, just trying to figure out a way to get my own product out there.

i was kinda doing the same thing for fun. I thought about using reviews and having my amazon links in it or my gamestop affiliate account for pre-releases, etc.
