Hey guys

I am confused today. I have two sites that were both ranking on page 1 of Google up until this morning that is.

When I checked my sites out they both moved from page 1 to page 5 of Google!

Can anyone help? Has Panda been at work again? I am still a little inexperienced so unsure and in need!

Thanks in advance.

Marcus

  • Well its not due to Panda..... its actually "Google Dance"......... but don't worry they'll be back soon on their previous position... Just make regular link building process.... and update your contents and articles.....

It's just part of the process. If they are fairly new they are likely to bounce around a bit before they settle, just be consistent with your link building.

Yes thanks. They are both only two months old but have been pretty settled on page 1 for the last 3 weeks so I am a little concerned. Do you still think this is OK?

    Thanks

They will continue to bounce around for a bit but they will eventually settle. I have had pages that bounced around for over a year. They would come and go, disappear and reappear, and then one day they just settle in on the first page and stay there.

Just be sure you keep building links, gradually, to your website/pages. Don't get worried.

I like that "settling on page one part" anyways.

Seriously though, I didn't realize you could expect to see that kind of movement for up to a year.

    Hi,

It could be a number of things:

    1. google dance
    2. Your competition has been backlinking and out done you
    3. some of your back links have been deinexed
    4. they may of been a slighly change to googles algorithm.
    5. the content on your site is seen as dated and not updated enough

The best bit of advice i can give is continue updating your site with good quality useful info and continue regular good quality backlinking. even when you on page 1 you should continue as this will stop you dropping off!

    Hope you find this useful

    Thanks
