Easy ways to make a PLR ebook unique

PLR eBooks can be a very helpful for sales or as gifts to customers and subscribers. I think it is good to edit the PLRs in order to make them as unique as possible.

Here are some of my thoughts on rewriting PLR:

-Change the cover. It may seem trivial, but it is the most important. I once saw someone here on warriorforum selling some ebooks and after I purchased them I found out that they were not his own ebooks but they were PLRs (true story). I even started a thread here on warriorforum. I finally got a refund because he didn't have the right to resell PLR rights. It was so easy to recognize them from the cover. if he had changed the cover I wouldn't have noticed it.

-Changes should also be made to the overall look of the eBook. The new eBook can be significantly distinguishable by changing color schemes, font and spacing on the cover and throughout the material. It is also important to change the format. Most PLR eBooks are text documents with very little formatting. formating will make your ebook more unique and look more professional, and makes the eBook more appealing and appears more valuable. Also good formating makes it easier for customers to read.

-Change the title. It's the easiest thing to change. It may seem obvious but believe me it is often overlooked. I think it is the most significant change to make to a PLR eBook.

-Rewriting the Content. I don't have much experience on this. But I usually read a whole paragraph understand what it says and then try to write it again without looking.

      I agree with all of the above! Plus you could record the book as an MP3 - this would add some real value while making your offer unique.

        Sorry but there is no such thing as 'Easy way to make a PLR ebook unique'.

        To make a PLR ebook unique, you need to rewrite/redesign everything,
        or pay someone to do it.

        But it's still easier than creating an ebook from nothing but your brains.

    I agree with Peggy. Take the book and make it better. Could even change up the format and take a section of the book and expand on that alone and make the new product a special report.

    I like stories... If you have experience in something share yours... or get stories from others.. but make sure you have permission to use!

    These are all great ideas.

    Personally I think the most important thing is to re-write the content. Many times the content of PLR stuff isn’t very well written, doesn’t say a lot & is basically full of fluff. I would much rather put out a 10 page report that cuts through the chase then a 50 page ebook that has 40 pages of useless information. We’re all extremely busy. I don’t like wasting people’s time!!

    No matter with 4000-5000 words PLR eBook, but with a PLR eBook which contains 15000-20000 words, it difficult and boring to rewrite in own words. So, for a big eBook, the solution is outsourcing.

    Another option is to repurpose the content into other formats.

    If it's an ebook, break the chapters down to articles or videos. If they are articles, connect them together to create a report. The information could also be used for webinars or physical workshops.

    I have done what Kecia suggested before by using a PLR eBook and breaking it down into shorter articles which I then posted on my blog in rewritten form.

    I also tend to prefer to add something of my personality to eBooks etc so I may add some personal notes about my experience with the topic, which I think helps make the eBook easier to read and lets your reader connect more with you (if that's what you're after).

    That's a good way to rewrite a PLR but there's one important thing you
    must do before you even start re-writing a PLR.

    Check the quality. If it recommends a system, give it a quick run and
    judge if it's working.

    After that go and rewrite it and put your name on it. But check it first.
    You don't want your name on a crappy one.

    If you enough much rewrite i think you can as well use any good non-PLR book. The copyright laws won´t then hit you at all, as far as i know . Or you should be able to combine stuff from different books...
    If I am wrong in this, I hope somebody can explain how !

      use multiple sources of plr on same topic, take bits, pieces, and parts from all. Re-write them, and put them back together in a logical order. Also gather information from Q&A sites, other forums, and anywhere that has info on the niche/topic. Sounds like a lot but you could probably do that research and re-writing in a few hours once you get your system down

    The way I use PLR is to translate them to spanish (my native language) and then sell them to the spanish spoken market (which is a huge market).

    If I go for the English market, then I rewrite them completely, change the cover, the title, add some images and when is unique, only the I distribute them.

    I actually approach information publishing in a different way.

    Always, always, always start with demand/desire to reach a certain outcome (launch a business, lose 10 lbs, sell your home in 4-weeks or less, get a promotion, etc...) and THEN make sure your approach/system/training offers a unique method of helping them reach that objective.

    From there, outline the chapters, lessons, steps, etc... you need to provide to help them realize their end outcome staying aligned to your unique process....

    THEN you can look to fill in some of the content with PLR or provide bonus material via PLR when you know what your approach will be.

    For example, we recently created a course around stress relief focused on increasing one's energy by 3X where we wrote about half the material in the package (3/4 of the main course and about 1/4 of bonus material) using other sources including PLR for the rest (ex we included a report on body cleanse for example from PLR which is one of the steps to get your body healthy and able to deal with stress/gain energy.)

    With this approach you not only make sure you product is commercially hot and personalized but it makes your search for PLR laser-focused instead of just throwing a bunch of general info together which is just not effective.
