Learn one skill at a time.

When most newcomers get involved with internet marketing they see the dollar signs and want it to happen over night, but that doesn't happen and most give up all because they didn't treat this as a business and learn one new skill at a time. I.M. is new to everyone who just starts out but it requires learning new skills not all at once one at a time untill you have mastered the ones you need to suceed.

    A valid point. While I'm a big fan of diversity (So that the next Google algorithm change doesn't bury my business), it is very important to learn one thing at a time and stick with it until its up and running.
    The biggest mistake newbies make is jumping around from method to method.
    Stick with something until it works, then learn something new while building on the first method as well.

      agreed - and would add that learning skills that allow you to add valuable/useful content to the Internet will pay off forever, as opposed to learning tricks that will eventually fail (and/or get you slapped into oblivion)

    One of the most important steps in I.M. is identifying the area you need to focus on and then developing a mastery of it. Skipping from one item to the next will hardly take you anywhere. Equally important is knowing your strengths and playing to your strengths. Find something you love and are passionate about. If you are one of the lucky ones who can find that something (you love), then perseverance, patience, and hard work will take you to heights you never imagined before.
