Hello mortals,

I've started used CJ, it's cool and all, but I don't know how to get the links from the products I want to promote.

I know about the 'get HTML', but then you get a big ugly box with a buy button and a description of the product, I don't want that.

All I want is a text link, like on Amazon...

Thanks :-)

Just take the link < a href = "" > and use that with your own text

  • Thanks for the reply Issac :-)

I'll do that, but it says: "If you change any of the part of the link, you may not get your commision". Or something like that?

Should I still just take the href?

Frederik - When you click on "get HTML", the page that comes up actually has HTML for several kinds of links including a text link. Their layout just makes it hard to see.

See where it says "Image URL"? Under that is an update button and under that is some code that starts with <form method. Under THAT is the text link code. There's no labels on those darn boxes but right above the text link code they show you the live text link so you can see what it will look like.

    Hope that makes sense...

  • I have one more question.

When you use links from CJ, will it place a cookie and will I get commision nomatter what they buy?

Yes and yes although the terms vary by merchant so read through the agreements of each one. Usually these are fairly short and to the point so it won't take too much time. You'll also uncover any exclusions or special rates for certain products.

  • Another thing if you don't mind :-)

What does "impressions" and "leads" mean?

Has anyone really gotten paid by CJ as a publisher?

  • @momfriend

I don't know I just started using it, but I guess so?

I have but not nearly as much as I've earned with other programs. Granted I don't have as many CJ links as I do links for merchants in other networks but my conversion rate is simply much lower on CJ and I really don't know why. As a result, I've tended to shy away from them unless they have the best price link for products on my sites.

  • Ye, well I really like Amazon too and 2 days ago I made my first 100$ in IM ever, using Amazon.

So I really started to like Amazon, but the payment method made me change to CJ, because it's easier since I don't live in the U.S

Congrats on the Amazon money but I can understand switching because of the payment options when you're promoting .com but live outside of the US.

For all intents and purposes, you should be able to do very well with CJ. I know I've had clicks and I've been paid so all the things are in place...I'm sure I just didn't work it enough since I was doing better elsewhere. Just watch the clicks and split test every now and then to make sure everything's working as you expect.
