Someone is spamming me via text... wtf?

Is there anything I can do to stop this? I don't need to get these kinds of spam texts while I"m busy at work.

    If it is just from a personal number, call/sms and tell them whats running in your mind.

    If it is a shortcode and not a real number, then the best bet would be the national communication ministry or related agency that supervises this kind of service.

    If you have a "smart" phone, I think there's actually an APP for that (not meaning to pitch for the iphone or droid)

    I'm not sure what the app's name is, but it basically blocks any incoming text message and has the option to autorespond. So, if you get a message, it can respond "Bug off!" (or something).

    And following Suthan's advice, you can add your mobile number to the national do not call registry. However, I'm not sure if the registry includes SMS messages.

    JaggyJay is correct, if you have a smart phone, you can get an app to block it. I'm on a droid so I use:

    https://market.android.com/details?i...erycallcontrol

    There are others too. But even if you're on the iphone or whatever just search "call block" in the app store.

    And if you're in the U.S. sign up your phone to the registry:

    https://www.donotcall.gov/

    But that takes like 30 days to work.

    I also used to the Call Control app for my Android.

    I just started getting them probably last week and I've heard of other people getting them recently as well. I'm sure it's not but I hope that it's not someone on the forum behind it. Mine was from short code 4689.

    It was from a 509 area code and the funny thing is that it was one of these "make money on line websites"

    And I have an Iphone lol.

    Anyways it's all good.
