Google, Yahoo, and Digg are all websites that use html and more. They are custom built and their designs have taken them years to perfect. So in short there is no software that can build websites like these.

However, I am going to assume that you want to know how to "design" a website that can be as simplistic and professional as some of the biggest websites in the world without knowing html.

In that case, you should learn a little bit about Wordpress and other content management systems. This is what many people use to build websites without the need to be knowledgeable in html and other languages.

In that case, I recommend you go download a basic html website from a website like Dreamweaver Club.

Get your hands on Dreamweaver and open the html website, you downloaded, using Dreamweaver. Look at the live version of the website and then look at it's code. Read through the code and start messing around with it. Start Googling what you don't know and ask questions when you are stumped until you become somewhat accustomed to html.

This is what I did when I first started learning basic code many years ago.

Wordpress is your answer. Maybe you can get those themes that are customizable like Thesis, Genesis, Catalyst etc.

I had a very similar question recently and received a lot of good suggestions in this thread, main-internet-marketing-discussion-forum/496121-how-do-make-your-sites-look-professional.html . I could not post the entire link due to my low post count. Most people seemed to like wordpress with a premium theme.

HTML is that basis of all websites so it might be tough to make one of your own without at least being able to read it.

Wordpress is for sure you're best bet. You can check out Theme Forest to get a customizable theme. There are plenty of videos on Youtube showing how to install them and it's not too difficult.

Your best bet is to simply use WordPress as it's an excellent platform for do-it-yourselfers with a lot of free, open source plugins and themes.
THanks but i am not comform with wordpress, i want to create custom things.

Probably the best way to do it is to buy a premium theme from any marketplace and you are done!

It all rounds up to what you want. You may get some good CMS like wordpress or joomla and get premium templates. You don't need to be html savy to own a good-looking website

Of course you don't - you have to learn it before you can build a good site with it. Much easier than trying to replicate google or yahoo. Even so, it takes time and effort to master it.

Start with Wordpress, master wordpress and go from there.

As mentioned above, get WordPress and then invest in a good premium theme. Catalyst or Studio Press (Genesis) themes are amazing. For someone who wants a professional looking site you can do no better.

And for someone who likes to learn html, CSS and all, there are support forums for these themes that will be there to lend a hand all along the way. Just ask.

Without knowing HTML you can use Drupal and wordpress.
digg.com is made in drupal open source software Drupal - Open Source CMS | drupal.org but of course there are questions how to do this and you can ask on drupal forum if there is something that you dont understand.
Even yahoo have a part made in drupal

    Hope it helps.

Just so you know, Drupal is a million times more complex than WordPress.

Do you have a bit of money for hosting?

      I dont agree with you.

If you want just a blog, yes use wordpress and also drupal have in core a blog + forum and you can use it right away without any modification.

If you want more yes you have to learn more how to put them together but i give him the right path. You can put lot of things together even if you have no idea about HTML or any codding language and of course you just have to read more on drupal and ask on them forum for what kind of help you need and thats depend what kind of site you want to make.

Trust me after you get with drupal you will not want to use anything else and you can do anything you want in drupal but of course have to know how to put modules(plugins how they call in wordpress) together and what modules to use but on drupal community just ask and they will help you.

80% of my customers have drupal and even if they want wordpress i just explain them why drupal do a better job that WP if you want a real site.

About memory i can say you are right but this just in case you want a real site and even wordpress eat lot of memory in some cases because lot of plugin get installed.

There are big players on internet like Wordpress if you want just a simple blog then Drupal and Joomla.

My suggestion go for Drupal and you will come and thanks me latter. Drupal its supported also from US Government because of security, google support also Drupal so why we should talk about other open source when its about a real site. Learn Drupal and you will not regret.

Again for a simple blog go with wordpress.

If you want to try drupal here is free hosting Drupal Gardens | Get a Free Drupal 7 Site Here and you can create your site on drupal and play around.

Also you can install drupal on your PC very easy so you can play around much easier and full control of modules (plugins) go here Downloads | Acquia and install Dev Desktop for windows and mac

      Regards
      Marius

If you want an easy way to design multiple websites, check out Artisteer. You can design custom templates for WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and more. You can do a whole custom template in minutes.

When you are done, you just save it and upload it to your CMS (WordPress, Drupal, etc). It is well worth the investment and easy for beginners.

HTML is an inevitable factor in website creation but you must know many more languages in order to create high quality websites. Firstly, you need the design and graphics which is very key. Next, you'll need to create the style of your website which will be created via HTML, CSS, Javascript and jQuery. Later, you must add functions to your website which require PHP.
