How in the world do I do this?

First of all, how do you BOLD the title of your tread?

Secondly, I wrote a book that's currently available at Barnes and Nobel.com and at Lulu.com. It's called When I Disappear, and it's a very good book - I've had tons of excellent feedback, and the foreword is by the late Rev. Peter Marshall - but how in the world do I get people to find it and buy it? I've read some of the suggestions below ... anybody got any more?

Thanks a bunch, Y'all! And Merry Christmas!

Two words m'dear: Book Tour. Also, as part of your marketing research, look up John Kremer's 1001 ways to market your books." That thing is as thick as a bible (for a reason)!

Talk show radio interviews. Hopefully, your book has a hook that might be tied to current events or is of interest to the general public.

Start calling local radio stations and once you get the hang of it (the whole thing is to make the host look like a genius for having you on) go for a broader market.

Thank you, Mahlon. Your answer to the BOLD question is appreciated! I hadn't thought of a Facebook fan page ... it's a great idea. I'm going to figure this one out! (I know, it may be simple to you, and it will be simple to me, too ... but it's not simple yet! :-) I'll have to work on it.

      Thanks again and Merry Christmas,

Thank you, nm5419 and travlinguy. I appreciate both of you taking the time to answer my question ... now, as for the "how to BOLD" question ... I still haven't figured that one out!

    Hi

The thread title shows bold for you when it contains new or unread messages. So it depends on which threads you have read and visited. It isn't something you set.

As for promoting your book I would recommend creating a facebook fanpage for the book. It looks like the kind of book that could spark discussion. You could add comments and insight about events in you life and the world.

From the facebook page you could direct them to where they can purchase the book.

You could also add an opt-in form if you are building a list.

Once you have a facebook page, you can create really targeted ad campaigns driving traffic to your page. Facebook ad rates are much lower when your ad takes them to a fanpage instead of an external site.

A fan page would let you answer questions and share discussions with others who have read your book, or are thinking about buying it.
