Split Testing/Optimizing Sales Page

Hi,

I finally got my sales video finished. I got it done for super cheap using a free tool at GoAnimate - Make your own animated videos. It's easy and fun. Then I hired a Fiverr gig for the voice over.

You can check out the video here: www.overseasbasketball.net

Anyways, I am going to optimize and split test for conversions of the product I'm selling.

Heres how I set it up:

Page 1: Full sales copy and video
Page 2: Sales video with delayed order button
Page 3: Sales video with shortened sales copy
Page 4: Same as Page 1 with new headline.

How do you usually go about optimizing for sales?

    • The very first thing you need to split test in a sales page is... price!

Get your product's price level, and split test it against 150% and 50% of that.

On a related note, you can also test the offer itself. Think about the classic "twofer" - how many ways can you offer two items for one price?

Sometimes '2 for $1' works better, sometimes it's 'buy one for $1, get one free', and so on.

I agree with the others, though. Test the big things first. Think offers, prices, headlines...

I believe in testing shouts not whispers. Think Ryan Deiss or Jay Abraham said that first.

Going for big changes that make big differences rather than small changes that make small differences to conversions.

I've never used a sales video, not yet anyway, but looks like you've got your bases covered. Not sure if it's worth testing no video...

    That's a very good point!

Testing the price, the offer and the traffic sources.

Ok, thanks alot. So I guess I will start with a 3 page test:

    Price 1
    Price 2 (150%)
    Price 3 (50%)

Next after this I think will be headlines.

After that I will try just video, how much sales copy, etc.

Here is what to test and the exact sequence:

      #1 Test Price.
      #2 Test headline.
#3 Test offer, which is what they get, how they get, what they pay, and how they pay

Of course, you can also test video vs. no video.

Please do report your results here for further fine tuning and further optimization help from the forum.

I knew there was a good reason to make this thread. I am learning alot. I will try out your method RajBapna and let everyone know how it goes. I actually made a sale last night with the new video, (which is big because my old sales letter was NOT converting).

Have you checked out the link you provided or was it just a sneaky way of getting people to visit your adsense site??

There is no video there, just a spammy website full of adsense ads.
