Hello everyone,

While waiting for the reply from aweber team, may I ask your help too?

Is it possible to remove the email address text box in the web form?

I just want to have a survey type web form.

Just like asking the person that referred them to the site. How they found out about the site if it was not a friend? (craigslist, newpaper, radio, tv, etc)

Something like that.

Thanks,
George B.

That's certainly unconventional use of Aweber. I doubt whether anyone here will have even tried to do that, but I guess you never know. There are other sites on the web that specialise in surveys. I suggest you consider trying one (just Google online surveys). That way, you'll definitely get better analysis of the data since that's what they are for.

Aweber, as their title explains on their homepage, is an email marketing software. As far as I know, and as far as Aweber knows, you can't use their service to develop a survey to embed into your website.

As far as I know you cannot do this, but I have never tried myself, so am really not an authority about this subject.

As far as I know, why don't you include the email text field, and a message box for them to write comments on?

That way you could contact them and ask questions in the future when needed.

I'm not really sure about your concern... However, I would recommend instead that you use SurveyMonkey.com for your surveys. They're reliable and easy to use Hope this helps.

Hey Ed, I'll give that some thought.

All webforms within AWeber require at least an e-mail
address to be inserted for them to be processed.

There is a 'workaround' you can use with AWeber that
would work but it requires a bit of extra set-up and a
        lot of unnecessary hassle...

You could set-up a webform with the e-mail address
field hidden in the background (instead of being visible).

So, you create a form with an e-mail address of say
'survey1@example.com' hidden in the background and
then have that posted at your site at example.com/survey1/

However, as most AWeber lists only allow one specific e-mail
address to be added to a specific list you'd have to have a
series of these pages and e-mail addresses created, i.e.
        survey2@example.com, survey3@example.com .

(Where example.com is your domain and survey1@example.com
        survey2@example.com are forwarding e-mails you set-up beforehand).

This is unnecessarily complex so use a SURVEY tool to do
surveys and an AUTORESPONDER tool to do autoresponders!

If you want to do a SURVEY, then use a tool that's specifically
designed for conducting surveys such as SurveyGizmo,
        SurveyMonkey, etc.

It will make the implementation and analysis of your survey
        results much easier too.

        Dedicated to mutual success,

        Shaun

It's a bit silly. It's like buying a mobile phone just so you can use the alarm clock feature on it - why not just go and buy the alarm clock?!

If I were you I would either:

          1) Use a survey service such as survey monkey

          2) Use Aweber to create your surveys but also ask people to submit their email address when doing so. This way you are building a list at the same time. There is a more creative way of doing this by using a product such as:

            Yeah, it's a bit silly.

Maybe in the future aweber will not only be email marketing tool but also a survey tool.

    Hi George,

I think you need to check Wufoo: Online Form Builder - Create Web Forms & Surveys out.

It works pretty well for me and I hope it will do the same for you.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers,
