Facebook page for membership websites - WHY?

I'm curious as to why some think it critical to have a Facebook page for their website?

What benefit results from doing so, increased traffic to the site, SEO, "brand recognition"?

I have a new membership site and am wondering if there is a typical format for effective Facebook pages representing membership sites?

Thanks!

    There are 3 reasons why:

    1) You can put the Photos, Videos, Articles, Links, Discussions, Events, News, Offers, etc ALL forms of information related to your Business at one place - on your Facebook Fan Page/Business Page. It's great to share all types of information at one place. Your customers will get updated with the latest offers & news related to your products & services.

    2) When you will have any NEW product or service to launch, You can put it on your Fan/Business Page.It will directly appear on the Homepage of your customers. So you can reach to your customers directly anytime WITH your product or service.

    3) Search Engines also LOVE Facebook. So when you put /share your business information on your Fan/Business Page, It get indexed into the Search Engines Quickly & Easily. It will generate HUGE Traffic to your Fan Page/Business Page. And if you have any Website or Blog you can Easily redirect your Traffic towards them.

    Hope this helps

    God Bless,

It can also give a perspective how many people trust the certain site and how many follow it through the FB.

When you like the page gets on your wall and many friends may find it there and visit your site.

With facebook growing everyday you can't afford to not have a page there.

Offtopic: I have noticed a big boost in serps with a single google+ fanpage. So those are a must as well.

    Cheers

    Thanks for the input!

Does anyone know of some good examples of Facebook pages for membership sites? Not only in the area of "design and appearance", but how effectively the owner leverages the page to create branding, traffic, etc., for his actual website.

And last, but not least, what's the going rate for outsourcing the creation of a Facebook page from a proven vendor that could provide examples of previous pages he's built?

    Thanks for the help!
