Should I put youtube videos on my reviews?

Hello everyone,

Is it a good idea when you write a review page about a product to put a youtube video that will more easily explain in detail what your selling? I guess most people rather watch a video than read.

One of my concerns is if people will instead click the video, leaving your page to youtube and not purchasing anything.

Just wondering if anyone does this and if it is a good option?

Thanks.

I think it is a very smart thing to do. Well people can always leave your page so that doesn't matter. You will build more trust with the reader/viewer. And it is important with those kind of websites.

It's a good idea to include videos. Video testimonials are good for convincing the reader/listener to buy. Sure, people may click on the video and end up on YouTube and get distracted, and not buy from you. But that is pretty much only going to happen with the people that aren't going to buy from you either way. While it is a page exit, it's one that you don't really need to worry about.

From the view of the customer I much prefer video review because something about them to me just seems more genuine and also most people just watch an embedded video and don't go to youtube.

Also change the settings in youtube so that similar videos are not shown at the end.

Or you could not use youtube and use something else like easy video player or other alternatives so there is no chance of them leaving via the video

It certainly is a good idea to have a video review. It can show the viewer that you have actually seen or used the product & builds trust & aids ongoing relationship with them.

In addition it improves the time that people are on your site which gives you some SEO value.

Why not you must put Video review over typical text review it will stand out from the crowd and you know In 2013 videos will take the internet traffic by over 90% so , Don't miss out this.

Absolutely! Video makes a connection like nothing else can. You can convey warmth, enthusiasm and humor in a way that grabs attention and makes you 1000% more "real" and believable.

When it comes to a review, hearing and seeing you feels more like you're getting a recommendation from a friend, like you would in your daily life.

..next best thing to being there!

It depends what niche you're in. Youtube doesn't like internet marketing reviews, so there's a good chance your account could get shut down -- even if you're legit and recommend high-quality products. It's happened to some top-level marketers as of late.

If you're going to do the video, make sure it's high quality. I wouldn't just put a video on there to have a video. I'd say a bad video would be worse than no video, but a good video would be better than no video.

If you embed the video, then most people will just watch the video on your site and not goto YouTube to watch it.

Were you thinking of making the videos yourself or using existing ones? You can embed just about any video as long as it has an embed code on YouTube.

To the OP - YES definitely you should!

    1) Better SEO
    2) Better review
    3) If possible make your own videos and trademark them.
    4) do not use copyrighted ones.

Video is becoming very popular and has a lot of plus points. People often prefer to watch a 10 minute video rather than read a long sales letter or review. The search engines really like relevant videos especially YouTube because Google own them. However, make sure any video you use is an addition to the text and not instead of it. Video should be there to enhance your written content not replace it.

    Definitely!

Videos get more clicks, people would rather watch a video than read an article. There will be a very low percentage of visitors leaving your page for YouTube. Do not worry about it. Make your video stand out, make sure you have a call to action.

It will make your review page much-much better!

    Good luck!
