I am very new in affiliate marketing. I have no website skills. Making my own site is very diffucult for me. So, I have been in contact with one of the gurus in this forum for a couple of days. She is going to make a unique WP website for me for 200 dollars.
I see that many people in this forum own lots of website. Do I have to have multiple websites as well?
Can't I make at least 1 thousand dollars with just one website a month if I work hard and do all the neccessary stuff?

You certainly can make decent money with just one site. Just spend your time building it up with quality content and work on driving quality traffic. You can always add more sites down the line once you get comfortable with all your processes.

There's a post on here that I read earlier, I think it was only posted very recently by a guy averaging $1000 a day and he only started out about a year ago.

Just one of his sites is now making him 2-3 thousand day alone. I'll try and find the post and link to it, it's pretty good reading about peoples success. Ok found it - http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...1-000-day.html

You can do very well with one site. As a matter of fact, if you're just starting out, you might want to keep it very simple for a while and focus on just one site.

Absolutely, as others have said, having one site and focusing on it highly is most definitely one way to make thousands a month. It's a lot easier to learn your way with just the one site.

The most important thing is to take action, build the site, and never stop making it better.

Yeah, there are a ton of people making thousands a day from one site. It's definitely very possible. However, I would recommend that you learn as much as you can about website design to make your life a lot easier in the future.

    Hello OP,

One website can make much more than $1,000 a month. The question should not be whether a website (or your website) can make that much money, it should be, does your website have the potential to make that much money.

I hope you are not just buying some run of the mill wordpress website for $200. There are a lot of factors that go into building a website that has the potential to make you money.

A few things to ask yourself:

What niche is your website in?
How are you planning on monetizing your website?
Is there a lot of competition in your niche?
Is there enough people looking for the information your website has to offer?
Do you have a plan of action? (e.g. Do you know how you are going to market your website?)

If you are new to internet marketing, it is very easy to pay for or build something that may look like it can make you money, when in reality it will not.

It is important that you understand, first, what is needed to develop a website that can make you money.

I don't mean to cost the "guru" you are working with a $200 sale. Hopefully, she is providing you with a quality website that is worth the money you are spending. She should be able to answer the questions above

P.S. stay away from cookie cutter websites, auto blogs, and websites that do not have unique content

200 dollars seem like a waste of money to spend on a "unique" wp. Go purchase a domain name + hosting and in your hosting account you should see something called "Fantastico" with the happy face icon. You go there to automatically install the whole wordpress, and if you need a "unique" theme you can buy one for around 50 bucks or so in some online site or use a free theme.

Its totally up to you though. I just hope that person is actually selling you a "unique" theme and not using a free theme on it.

Not really a decent one..It would be better to run more sites. More sites = more money but it's a risk. Well, it's not going to be easy to earn decent amount of money but eventually, with hardwork, you'll get there.

          False

more sites can equal a bunch of crappy sites if you do not have a bunch of time to invest in a lot of unique content, and building backlinks on a regular basis to each of these sites ( depending on competition ).

Your better off building one bad ass site than 100 ****ty sites that do not produce much traffic.

Then you move on from there to your next one after your first one is a success.

I think the OP said that he is having a unique wordpress "website" built for $200 and not just a wordpress install with a unique design.

In other words, he is buying a website, that is already built and ready to make money in a certain niche in a certain way (e.g. adsense, cpa) -- hopefully...

    Hi!

First of all, welcome to Warrior Forums! I'm sure, you'll be satisfied here. A lots of nice people and lots of brilliant ideas over here.

If you would like to, I could help you with your site and perhaps share some of my business opportunities, if you'd like.

I must tell, 200$ is a little bit overpriced for a newcommer's first website, but if you know, what you're doing, don't stay back. What I meant was that you can get some very cool looking web templates for at least half the price and you can invest the remaining money into SEO or other things. Heck, there are even some stunning templates for free. So if I were you, I would, first of all, invest into a good and reliable hosting and try to experiment with the site a bit. Well, I can help you with all that. For 200$? No. I will do it for free. And if I ask something in return? Perhaps placing a very small banner on your site some day, something any web has anyway.

We could discuss all the details over MSN, so we won't spam the forum unnecessarily.

    Looking to hear from you.

    Regards,
    George S.

As the way you earn $ from commissions? By the way, I'm just about to launch a neat business, where people will be getting paid for watching ads through their PC.

It's pretty simple. You install a small application onto your PC and when you turn it on, it starts counting time and displays a little ads. Time = money in this case, but that's not the best part. The main point is in the affiliate program, which means, you register people below you and they do the same and you get 10% profit from each in your network. You can't really get rich on your own in this, but it's frankly getting paid for your PC, which is left running and connected to the net. My friend, who brought me to this has a network of 20,000 people below him and earning around 5,000$ per month. Sure, it took him around 6 months to get there, so not really an over-night experience, but with a proper guidance, this might work for everyone, who's not shy to present this project to his friends. Best thing? No entry fees, really nothing. So I just thought, if you were into building your own network, you could try this out. You can't lose anything after all.

I don't really want this to go online yet, it's pretty much Euro only thing, this is like 1 or 1,5 years old and haven't fully reached US, so that's why I didn't find a single trace of this on this forum, but I can share with you. Best if you have Facebook or MSN.

          Cheers,
          George S.

Yes, it is possible but if you are unwilling to learn how to setup a simple Wordpress website then I very much doubt you have the tenacity to turn it into one that makes even $100 a month. No offense, of course.

Hey, I am sort of in the same shoes as you apart from I created my website.

You can make good money with just one website, it all depends on your monetization and your traffic of your website, this will then decide whether you are going to make money or not. Usually if you have traffic then you will have sales, but there is alot more too it than that.

I recommend maybe purchasing yourself some sort of affiliate marketer guide or you look up some tips online.

There are several people offering 'template' wordpress sites for under $20. You get a nice design, some articles and other content, and they setup all of your affiliate links etc. I think you'd be better of spending $20 on the website and $180 on marketing.....but obviously I don't know the full details of the site you've just purchased.

But yes, you can make money from one site if you know what you're doing. If you don't, you're in for a rough ride. Good luck to you.

One site strategy is good. If you are consistent in writing content for the site, over a long time, you get loads of natural traffic.

Lets say you write 10 articles a month for 12 months. Thats 120 articles bringing you traffic to one site.

If on the other hand you had 10sites, that would be 10articles each bringing you traffic to each site.

120 articles bringing you traffic is the equivalent of a 1000articles since its to one site. It will give your site a high page rank

Of course you can, but building a site for $200 is only the beginning and it's success or failure will depend on where you go from there after it is finished. You need a great niche or idea, lots of original, interesting content, ways to promote the site and get traffic, a great product or products to sell, etc.

Yes, you can. However, it depends on what niche is the website in.

What if this 1 website suffered because of Google panda update? Then your sole income from this site is gone. Build a few sites to spread your risks. Do not put all your eggs in 1 basket.

You could have 50 websites or you could have 1.

The choice is totally down to you.

What you do need to consider is all the eggs in one basket situation and say if there is another google panda update if you had 50 and 1 was affected it would be no big deal at all - but if you just had the one you would be screwed.

Google AdSense is the most popular option under this category, but there are also others. Basically you need to sign up with the network and paste some code snippets on your website. The network will then serve contextual ads (either text or images) relevant to your website, and you will earn a certain amount of money for every click.

I agree that not having your eggs in one basket is more important than the number of sites you have.

You could have one site and its diversifying and security could come from having multiple traffic campaigns that work consistently, not just SEO Dependence.

    Oh yeah!

You can build just one website and make a lot of money, it does however require a lot of quality content if it's a website purely based around content.

Many website have their visitors contributing with content to their website and they implement some revenue sharing model on the monetization, that's a good way to grow faster and cheaper.

However it does take a little bit more than just a standard installation of Wordpress to get there but if you like the idea here is a plugin: WordPress › AdSense Revenue Sharing 1.2 « WordPress Plugins

If you decide to go for many small websites(maybe 100's) you have to take into account that managing them all together requires a good system.
Here you have to go with websites that requires little to no maintenance, anything else will most likely drive you crazy.

Monetization with Adsense, Ebay Partner Network, your own PLR products and Amazon makes good sense, because these Ad's you are very unlikely to ever have to touch again.

It's basically two completely different business models.

Both can work fine but choose the one that suites you the best based on your strengths, likings and personality.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

So you expect to make $1,000 a month and yet your not prepared to learn how to create a wordpress website??

That has to be one of the most basic processes involved in making money online, so if you can't put the time into doing that, I would say give up now. But that's just my opinion.

A nice worpress site is going to do f**k all if you don't know (and aren't going to learn) about how websites work, SEO and the million other things you need to know about.

Why are there so many newbies (yes I am a newbie) that expect to get everyone else to do everything for them????? That's not how it works. Learn to start creating things yourself.

Number of websites is not really the issue anymore...what you need is:

    1. One website that is designed to convert visitors into customers for a high-demand product (your own or an affiliate product)

    2. Compelling content that attracts, connects and pre-sells to your market - this content could be your own blog/website or just as easily could be YouTube videos, social networking sites (Facebook/Twitter/Tumbler), Ustream, etc... The bottom line is you want to create and make available compelling content that bridges the gap between "cold" visitor and "hot" buyer.

    3. Leverage through either affiliate mraketing or advertising to reach your audience and pull them through to your content.

Your website needs to be good at 2 things: 1) Capturing subscriber info or RSS subscriptions and 2) Converting visitors into customers

    That's it my friend.

I would suggest one site as your absolute money site, and at least another one for experimentation and testing purposes. Alternatively a free Blogger, Wordpress or Weebly site is also good for testing.

You can do fine with one site, but the key is to treat it as a real business. Making money online is not easy. Do expect people to just come to your site and buy products. You have to put a lot of work into it - like any business.

If you're a newbie with affiliate marketing, keeping one site at the moment will be a good idea. Start learning the techniques of promoting your site, generating traffic, building your list, and eventually make the most out of it. There are a lot of methods to do to advertise it. Focus first on one site, that a good way to start.
