Hello,

I have created a menu that has the same functions as amazon, not a clone but similar , do you think they would refuse or ban my website? is there something in their TOS that says do not do this and that?

I think you should be fine. So long as the menu is not identical and you are not trying to trick your website viewers, somehow, into thinking that your website is Amazon.com you should be fine...

Just to be safe, ask them anyways. Get in touch with their affiliate department.

  • It will be dangerous if your website will receive more customers apparently thinking they are on their usual website. Of course, if that happens you are likely to run into trouble with amazon. Remember there are some customers accustomed to appearance of website menus in that they can realize very late that it is a different website they are logged into.

Go ahead and communicate to them.

A menu bar that "resembles" an the amazon menu will not trick customers. Furthermore, the OP did not say anything about logging into anything.

His website, as I recall per our discussion, is a review website that works side by side with Amazon's affiliate program.

Zaco, did you ask Amazon about the menu bar specifically or did you ask them to review your website to ensure it is compliant with their affiliate program. The latter choice is a better way to approach Amazon if you are looking for an approval

        Hi Eddie,

I contacted them, they told me to apply for their associate program and they will take a look but the guy who answered me said he checked out my website and it seems its okay and goes well with their TOS..

Edit : I asked them about my site in general and told them if its okay since I used their menu style, I didn;t copy their menu.. I made my own but similar to theirs and the functions.. plus I used orange and blue in my site
