I am seeing a trend on flippa for websites that sell traffic.

I have a feeling most of them are fake.

The title of the auction would be something like :
"Earned $xxxx in 9 days Huge Potential, Outsourced Backlinks Biz"

It would be a simple website with nice landing page.

The testimonials on most of these sites are NOT unique.

No ranking of the website at all.

How can one know if the site has been doing PPC or is there a way to find out the paypal screenshots are genuine or not.

Just wondering.

Regards.

Yep your right a lot are fake, you really need to do your due diligence on that site before parting with any money, if you are doing a deal make sure you always use an escrow service and if the seller refuses then walk away.

Using common sense is crucial when searching for a website. Also you must understand that you'll pay for an overpriced site in 80% of the cases.

So if you don't really see a great opportunity I'd keep away from starting-up sites.

Having sold a lot of big blogs there my advice would be to not buy anything without at least a year and a half solid history. Financial history.

In my experience you need at least that amount of time to see whether rankings are matured and earnings are not trends.

There have been a million of the traffic websites sold on Flippa, most of them nothing but clones of each other, with the same sellers selling the same sites with different domains over and over again.

    I would avoid them.

Yep, stay away from these type of sites. You will regret buying something like that.

Same as the FB and twitter sites they sell on there. I sell nothing but niche site on there after they aged to perfection

Am not a buyer. I am a seller myself and hate to see such fake people get thru easily while others are slogging.

I wrote to flippa and they said they will look into it.

They had already closed account of one such member (Am not sure about the reason they suspended the account but selling fake sites with fake figures could be it).

Yeah that business model was birth right here on the forum I believe lol. Build services site that are outsourced and sell them off based on the potential they can make. It looks like it slowing down some though I have not seem near as many as their used to be. Is they took the time out to test if they actually make money then maybe the marketplace would be a little bit better with services sites. Since they don't there will be nothing but complaints and sad Flippa buyers when they find out.
