Hi I am planning to sign up for citymax.com for their website building service
for my dropshipping business. I would highly appreciate if someone could share their experiences with them either positive or negative.

The good features that they offering is low monthly fees plus a FREE account to DOBA dropshipping service.

Thanking in advance...

I've never heard of them, but I always worry about any service that has to sell itself by telling blatant lies on its sales page:

    "shopping cart - $29 - $99 a month". Rubbish - Mal's cart is free and works well.
"Typical merchant account fees: One-time fee of $49 etc" isn't even a valid comparison to what appears in the next column. You can use Paypal in either situation.

As someone who has experience with drop-shipper based websites, I'd avoid companies like this. To be successful relying on a drop-shipper, you have to use distributors that sell to very few companies. Otherwise you're only competing on price, and as crazy as it sounds, when you have a lot of sites selling the same products from the same drop-shipper, you have lots of sites selling products for about a penny over their wholesale cost.

I remember checking out Citymax many years ago. Didn't realize they were still around. They offer a website building platform similar to Homestead.com, which is what I use. Never used Citymax so can't speak to their effectiveness.

Most people on this forum are probably using Wordpress for sites, so you may not get much response. When in doubt, ask questions. Contact Citymax and ask specific questions about their dropshipping service...particularly about the fees.

You can only make a profit if you keep your fees as low as possible. Also, google Citymax reviews to see what others online have to say.

I usually don't get involved with sites like this as they get you tied into their system and if you stop paying then you lose everything you have.

    Hello Jaede2000,

I CAN tell you about Citymax.

I had a site with them years ago for maybe a couple years, when I knew far less about online business. I was really green then, WordPress was not the major player it is now, and I was looking for a host that could "do it all."

They have their good points. I could (and did) ecommerce, including digital file sales. That was a major selling point for me then. They had themes, so I did not have to fool with graphics and things I was not good at or didn't have time for. My site looked clean and I did a decent amount of business, considering my topic was on something very regional.

Bad news: it was expensive, over 200 bucks a year for hosting, a theme, and the ability to sell downloadables. Now, I can get a domain name, hosting, and use my iBuilder theme for WordPress for a whole heck of a lot less. Plus, the site went down quite frequently and I had trouble at times with the integration of Citymax and Authorize.net gateway.

It's sort of like what Scotty said on one of the Star Trek movies: the more complex the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain. They try to do a lot of things, but they were always busy trying to fix broken drains. Maybe things are better now in that department, but you do pay dearly for "all things to all people" website builders.

In the end, I felt I got way too little for way too much money. I little more effort and a lot less money will get you a whole lot more.

    Been there, done that.

    Hope this helps.

It's not enough to want it... you have to want it enough.

Many thanks for all your feedback much appreciated,,,Tried a bit of research but not really great results...Customer service is poor, no number to contact for support, no live chat support all email communication but not sure how quick they are in responding...So it's a no goer...Try other platform...
