Outsourcing Costs for Content/SEO

Hello everyone,

For those that outsource most of their content/SEO work, I was just wondering what percentage of income people are spending for outsourcing their various websites?

I recently looked through some of my Paypal invoices and figured right now I am spending approximately 10% of what I earn in SEO help, and another small percentage for various others costs such as 1-time SEO help, or article writing.

I feel like i'm quite smart with what I use and do but am wondering if others find they are spending the same amounts each month (or more, or less).

Thank you!

Adam

I don't have fixed percentage. Each month it's different.

Instead of looking at the money going out, why not look at the money coming in? Are you getting a good return on your investment? For example, if you paid $20 for an article, is it bringing in more money in profits than $20? Or, if you're paying $100 per month for SEO work, is the exposure from the search engines giving you more than $100 in profits. Remember, you're building a business. As much as we all hate to watch money leave our bank accounts, you've gotta spend money to make money

And, just as a separate observation, you're going to get totally different answers based on different business models. There are some people here who make all of their money off of article marketing, so they may spend a big chunk of money on it - but they're not paying for SEO work (or vice versa). If you're comfortable with the amount of money you're spending (and the results it's giving you), that's all that matters.

It's typical to spend $200 to $400 per person on SEO and content creation
for providers in asia. For high-end content, you'll pay more.

But like what Nicole said, you should focus on how much you're making with
    the money you're spending.

I'll second what Nicole said. Is the money you're spending bringing money back in? More than what's going out? If you go out and spend $500 on hundreds of articles written by crappy writers, that's $500 you just wasted. If you go and spend $500 on a smaller amount of very well written articles, you'll probably see a bigger increase in sales than with the 'cheap' articles. Then you'll know where to put your money.
