I often look at fiverr just for fun.

Its rather, quite in fact VERY interesting to see what people will do for $5.

Seeing people make a fool of themselve, telling a joke, to serious stuff like backlinks, and designing.

I was just thinking, would you really pay someone $5 for a website design to be done?

I mean dont that cost $100s?

What do you expect from a $5 website design?

hmmmm..

i certainly dont want to find my site's "look a like" twin down the road saying we have the same creator. hahaha

The thing about Fiverr is that, sure, there is alot of garbage out there, but then there are also those diamonds in the rough. Trial and error will work, but, then, that's where the WF can come in handy or blogs like bestoffiverr.com -- to help you weed out the quality from the garbage.

There are some decent graphic designers on fiverr. I say give it a shot. You would only at worst lose $5 and maybe some time. Just make sure you take a look at the reviews before you buy.

You get what you pay for. If you're looking for small things, it's alright. Good website design etc. I'd get from somewhere else. No self respecting designer will shortchange their work for $4.

Of course there are exceptions. People who just start and looking for clients, but are genuinely good.

Unless they have the means and marketing know-how to capture a HUGE volume of work, keep costs low, and use the low price to sell into higher priced services....

It's not always about "shortchanging" oneself...you can tactically use services like Fiverr--and, many have--as more of a spring board into greater offerings.

I've used fiverr once or twice for PLR articles, decoding something - things like that. Will never use it for a "website design", though. As the previous poster said "You get what you pay for".

As perfectlovehere mentioned, there are great graphic designers on fiverr.

    Mainly because:

    1. They are from countries like Philippines, Indonesia that work for cheap.
    2. Fiverr has a lot of traffic. It's easy to sell, especially as you mentioned $100s worth of services for $5.

Just give it a try. Always select gigs with a lot of positive ratings.

Fiverr is 90% rubbish 10% gold

Its just a case of going through the rubbish to find the gold.

For example I found a diamond ezinearticles.com author that is willing to write, submit and publish articles to my ezine account for a fiverr.

Or ones that will do good quality videos in things that I am not experienced in - so you go and have a good look and I bet you will find some real diamonds.

    Hey OP,

Fiverr is awesome.. for 2 reasons:

1: I make about $600 from fiverr every month selling lists of blogs from scrapebox, lists of article directories for AMR, lists of bookmarking sites for BMD etc..

2: when designing a website or product I outsource stuff like:
    - graphics and banner creation
    - audio transcripts of my eBooks to add value to my products
    - video testimonials
    and loads more..

    Fergal :p

In cases like a $5 website design, I'd ask first to see what you get. It's probably a template or basic Wordpress install only, something like that. Then you 'd have up-sell opportunities for customization.

Tips: read closely at what the gig offers, ask questions to clarify as needed before ordering, and then give it a go if it looks like there's a fit. Fiverr has good customer service to help with questions and any trouble spots, too. And always communicate with the sellers. Give them a chance.

If you dig deep enough you can find some absolute gems. I have found some great writers recently,I have one writer that supplies me with 3 500+ word weight loss article that are completely unique.

I am currently looking at backlinking strategies. I am going to use them on some of my less important sites and see how it goes

  • Often the seller of fiverr not honest ... but there are some who really put a lot of work and are professional. As an example of people from doing the mastering tracks. I know the music and believe - normal price for mastering is about $ 40, and I fiverr it for $ 5 at a very high quality (such as the music market) ...

Some things on Fiverr are awesome, you as a newbee should really look at using it to generate cash - dare I say there are those on the WF that sell services from Fiverr at more than a Fiver. It's this simple - people are prepaired to buy from you things like backlinking packages, you see these are busy people if you supply something of value that actually works, and your source is Fiverr, busy people will still thank you for the service, because they didn't have to go out and find it themselves. As far a web design is concerned, I am assuming content is not included (needs to be original content) then there are softwares available that will produce a perfectly acceptable site in minutes, that is usually the type of thing that you will get from Fiverr, however the framework is built so you can then build out your content pictures ect....... :-)

I have not used them for a while however I know of people making great money from satisfied customers by using Fiverr. One of my courses actually reccomends using Fiverr for cititions for Google Maps marketing. it works just fine.

It's worth remembering that there are other services out there like Fiverr that are higher price points, I have a list of them somewhere, not to hand right now, but their gigs are $9 $20 and so on, obviously on Fiverr you are getting what you pay for and you should also consider using the higher ticket services for more indepth stuff.

Points to remeber for all such sites

Check out their profile - look for how busy they are? ie how many gigs have the done, also look to the feedback score and any reviews of their work, feedback at 98% plus from a busy fiverr er would suggest to me that they are good at what they do and they do produce the goods as described.

    Hope this helps

I have a friend banking ~$300/day on average on fiverr (several accounts, providing backlinks/fb likes/twitter followers/youtube views)

I myself enjoyed once to make a guy write and sing a song about another friend of my. The song was "John is virgin" <- imagining John was my friend and it was hilarious haha!
Also once I paid some fat guy to strip with a text "Happy birthday John" where john was another friend of mine... he didn't get that so well haha

Fiverr can be a great site to get certain tasks done cheaply!

If i was looking for a new site i would head to elance or odesk to be honest, however, it might be worth trailing someone for $5! after all it's super cheap!

But you do get what you pay for!

Be sure to check their rating and previous work history!!

I'd imagine a $5 website would be the most bland generic looking template you can find with maybe one page and super little content. I don't know who the hell would be interested in that but I guess it's worth a try.

    • If you look at the link I provided above^, you can see exactly what one $5 website looks like. You don't have to guess.

It has eight articles, monetization for Amazon/AdSense/ClickBank, lots of videos. And I didn't have to do a thing.

It would be trivial to add more articles or pages.

Opinions are the cheapest commodity. Just pay someone $5 and see for yourself. Of course it costs a lot more. For smart people it's just a stepping stone. And You can find some truly talented people there. I found 2 people with whom I may end up singing long term contracts worth thousands. They are not web designers though, its completely different niche I am working in.

I've used them a lot...with overall decent results. BUT, results are so much vendor-specific and even that can change. For awhile someone is god and on time, and then all of sudden they just stop delivering! ..for sellers, its seems like it would be a grind.

True there’s a lot of junk out there, but there are some hidden gems. There’s a guy I found on fiverr that does a lot of the header images for many of my sites. He does great work, usually has less than a 24 hour turnaround & best of all it’s only $5 J
