I gained 252 Facebook fans last night, with this simple tweak...

Ok, I can't take credit for this, because someone else pointed it out to me. But it was too good not to share here.

The tweak I did was merging some fanpages together. Now I guess facebook made this possible a while back, but then disabled it. But now it's back again. So last night I merged several old inactive fanpages, with a current fanpage, and instantly picked up hundreds of fans.

How? - You must be logged in as yourself to do this (not your fanpage). Then you click on your fanpage, and click on the "edit page" button in the upper right corner. Then you click on the "resources" flag on the left side. Then you'll see an option that says "merge duplicate pages" - then you choose the page that you want to merge with your current one. Then instantly you'll pick up those fans. Now WARNING - you will lose that page that you chose to merge with the current one, so don't chose a page that you don't want to disappear. But you will pick up all of those fans.

This was great for me, because over the last year or so I've been split testing ads w/ different fanpages that have different titles. Now all of my crappy fanpages don't have to go to complete waste, I can grab the fans before I dispose of them.
