First Ever Product Creation - Feedback Please??

12 replies
Ok, so there i was checking an email account i hardly ever use the other day when i read an email from some member site i had joined some time back, on how to make money from various projects. This particular email sent me to a pdf report about making money with NICHE cookbooks. Considering i was a chef for over 12 yrs, i thought i might give it a shot.

I read the report and came up with a cookbook niche i thought would do really well.

I followed exactly how the report told me how to go about creating a cookbook, and added a few twists of my own. It has now been created, converted to pdf, and i have made an ebook cover and wrote a very short, but SWEET salespage.

I am very pleased with my effort (about 1 day) and would like your views on whether it would succeed if i decided to sell it. The niche area i chose was "vegetarian students".

The ebook has been called "The Vegetarian Students Cookbook", and i have registered a domain name called Vegetarian Students Index.

Now, i would really love to hear some feedback on the salespage and the ebook which can be read and downloaded by checking out this link:

www.vegetarianstudents.com/test/

The next thing to do is create, or have made, a minisite template professionaly, and i need to know whether i should sell it as my own, or sell the package as PLR??

Do you think it wil do well? I have done research on the subject, and i think it could do well as a product, but i would like it to go out as a plr cookbook, with the option of me selling and creating more niche cookbooks.

What sort of price range should this go for as PLR, with ebook, word doc, graphics and salespage etc?

Thanks for taking your time in reading this. Have agreat day!

    IMO you need a header. Also, the pitch on top is garbled. What is the catch? Highlight only the MOST IMPORTANT text

    yes, i know about the header, it was just the salespage and ebook i needed reviews on, next step is to have a minisite made for it. Thank you for your feedback!

    dont worry too much on the ebook. most of the time it will be useful. Im sure youve put alot of effort into it. What you need is also a call to action. an order link in blue is good but you need more. talk about ordering have some arrows pointing at it etc , testimonials.... I dont like the idea of plr just yet. your gonna be short selling yourself. Maybe Master resale rights. have a link in the ebook back to your main website

        yes, do make a header. secondly, highlight THE BENEFITS under the header......... why someone wants to buy your book? because they need THE BENEFITS. Soooo, I would move the stuff that talks about the benefits right under the header

    In addition to the header, you also need a border around the salesletter IMHO, and I found the underlining on the headline distracting. I agree with Michael Nguyen: Your call to action needs to be better. Have a look at similar sites, or get a copy of Yanik Silver's Instant Sales Letters http://www.instantsalesletters.com/ to give you some ideas.

    When you've got the site sorted, run a WSO to get some tesimonials.

    Good luck!

    I think it would do well as a product. Make it available to affiliates and on the webpage add images, testimonials, more color (highlights) and the "about us", "contact", "privacy" and "affiliates" pages. And, as a vegetarian student, I think there is a big market for it

    I would also advise you to embed in your ebook backend money makers using affiliate links, or an offer for updates by subscribing to your list... etc.

    Hey, I think it looks great! I'm going to mention a few things--not to be critical, but to help if I can. Yes, I'd get a graphic header. I'm on a Mac with Firefox and the text seems to run very close to the borders on the sides.

    I would break the texts up with 2-3 images showing what some of the dishes look like. You want to make their mouth water before you ask for money!

    There are just a few grammar typo thingies--nothing serious.

    "...that's why The Vegetarian Students Cookbook contains over 25 delicious, easy to make and cheap vegetarian recipes that contain natures own natural cures for some of the worlds most common ailments!"

    The word "students" needs an apostrophe as it is a possessive word. If you mean one student it should read "student's". If you mean many students (which I think you do) it should read "students' ".

    Same with the word "natures", it should be "nature's"...
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    "...stop diarrhoea in its tracks!"
    diarrhoea is misspelled. It is "diarrhea".
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    "Also, with your order today, we will also include FREE updates..."

    Having two also's in the sentence is redundant.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Anyway it sounds great!
    HMMM
    Always suprises me when someone goes down the cheap and quick route for a product instead of aiming at a target market with money, your a qulified chef and your selling to the tree huggers with no money.
    Sell it to the tree huggers with pots of money...
    Plenty of people in this target market who want not cheap and easy, but gourmet vegetarian recipes, if you sell this as gourmet recipes and highlight your cheffness (i know its not a real word) you Could actually make some serious money and raise your price and get a recurring income form it, by giving them 2 new gourmet vegetarian recipes every month for a year at $97 a month.
    Video your self preparing the dishes as a bonus for upgrading, go throug hthe actual ingrediants with them, search out gourmet sources of ingrediants give them places to buy expensive herbs and health foods.
    Retitle the book into several different designs and URL's gourmet vegetarin foods for growing teenagers... gourmet vegetarin foods for pregnant mothers... gourmet vegetarin foods for retired folks... gourmet vegetarin foods for (Insert a target market here) this could be spun out into a miriad of different markets with just small rewrites
    JEEZ DONT BE SO KEEN TO SELL YOURSELF SHORT
    Robert
    PS here is a plan,, give the cheap and easy book away (rename it gourmet vegetarian dishes) and as soon as they download it, hit them with the upsell for $xx have 2 new and wondorous gourmet meals delivered to your inbox every week. Do the whole video yourslf preparing it let them smell the gourmeness (another made up word, but you get the message)
      Blimey, I never think of this kind of thing. This way of viewing the world just doesn't like up with my 'techie' mind. The idea that you have the same product but sell it in a different way and its worth tons more is so alien to me. I shall have to keep practicing this sales and marketing malarchy until I get better at it.
