I have a question to BIG affiliates about URL structure...

And here is it...

As I know, it can be good in terms of SEO for your blog (or main website) to have your sales page and/or product page under same domain of your blog or main website.

like this:

"mywebsite.com/products/productname" instead of "productname.com"

Because the affiliate links you get for your product page, will give some link juice to your main website/blog as well.

And maybe it can bee a little good for branding of my website too.


But I think maybe affiliates don't like to promote a product/membership program that has URL structure like this: (e.g. "myblogsite.com/products/productname"

Because - if I do not mistake - it can take off attention and have bad impact on conversions.

But I wonder how important is the URL structure of the sales page is for the product affiliates will promote?

    This isn't something that I ever consider at all when choosing a product to promote. Most of the stuff that I am an affiliate for is through Clickbank (although I am a part of a few other affiliate programs). I also do all redirects so I could care less what your url structure is. The link that the customer sees initially is mine to determine... and if any shenannigans occur, all traffic that I might be sending to a vendor's product gets redirected to another product

    It varies based upon the product. Some products have the name of the product in the URL, some of them utilize a brand, some of them utilize a person as a brand and put the product under there.

    It really varies.

    I personally have a product that does extremely well. The URL is the same as the product name, versus niche name.
