    Sebbi,

When you write, be yourself and write to the
person who you imagine to be your prefect
    customer.

People will be much more likely to connect with
you on an emotional level if you write as if you
are writing to them as a single individual.

When you write a sequence for an autoresponder
you should plan al of the emails in the sequence
    before you write them.

Try to tell a story that you deliver over a series of
messages... leave the reader wanting more and make
sure you promise to tell them something interesting
    in the next email.

Thanks a lot John so I should just write them about the real me and not lie or anything like that right?
And just say who I am and what my intentions are since the beginning

You're probably going to get quite a few answers to this and they'll probably all be different. The reason is that there's no "best" way to do this and much of it is trial and error as each list is different.

However, here's a few general tips that should work with any list:

    1. You want to provide content to your list more often than you promote to it. This content doesn't necessarily have to be directly related to the list topic all the time. You can send a quick email now and then to let them know what you, personally, are up to and what you're working on next, ask them for input about a previous email that you sent them or what they would like to see in future emails, etc.

    2. As far as how often to email them, this depends on who you ask. Some people will complain if you email them more than once a month while other people could get four emails from you per day and not be the least bit bothered. I'd suggest sending a short email once per day for the first week, none of which should promote anything that would cost the reader money. Ideally you'll send them links in each email that takes them to a blog post, video, article, etc. This lets them know that you're willing to share information with them without necessarily requiring that they buy anything. It also gets them "trained" to click links that you send them which comes in handy when you do start promoting things as they won't think anything of clicking your links since they do it all the time anyway.

After those first seven days or so, you could send them a promotional email that gently suggests they check out the offer. Don't be pushy and don't over sell it. From then on you could email them every two to three days or so (via your autoresponder sequence) or just send out an email to your entire list whenever you have something to say or something to notify them of.

    3. The degree of content to promotions is also something you'll get a lot of answers about. I've heard a 3:1 ratio is good. In other words, you send them three emails that provide information of some type (e.g., what you're up to, a link to a video related to the list, a tip/technique that you've heard about, etc) and then you send them one promotional email for whatever you want. My advice when promoting is to always do it as you would if you were recommending something to a friend. Just give them an idea of what it is and why they might like it and suggest that they check it out.

    Hope that's somewhat helpful.
