Facebook: Personal to Promote Business or Individual Business

For those of you who do a lot of Facebook and Twitter Marketing do you think it best to use a personal account and then promoting several businesses on it or doing a separate Facebook and Twitter account for each Business.

I know that most of the TOSs out there prohibit more than one account but do you actually violate these terms when you have more than one business?

Just like to hear a few answers on this.

A lot of websites limit you to one account for yourself, but if each business is its own different entity, then usually it isn't a problem to have different accounts for each.

It's also against FB TOS to create a personal account for a business and they WILL eventually shut your page down if you violate this rule. The whole purpose of fan pages is that they don't want businesses to be able to spam friend requests so you can see why they are cracking down.

I only have one fan page because it's all I need right now as most of my ventures fall under the same big umbrella but if I were to need another I would just create another fan page. To my knowledge it's not illegal to create more than one fan page but I could very well be wrong about that. I've seen social media managers with hundreds of pages with no repercussions.

Unless they have updated something, I think that if you have both a personal account and fan page for a business that that attached, then they will close the fan page at the same time they close your personal account.

Correct. That's the point I was trying to make.

Just from a quick glance at their TOS I am not seeing any limits on the amount of fan pages you can create, but they do state that personal accounts can be used for businesses. So just have on personal account and create multiple fan pages for each of your businesses.
