I've had okay luck with Facebook. My problem is getting enough followers. On one of my (many) sites I have a little under 1,000. I would say less than 30 people read my posts when I post according to analytics. I think it highly depends on how targeted your fans are and what content you post.

Redstanford... let me tell you a story

I started a campaign on Facebook almost a year ago.. the website was relatively new and the competition was low to medium. I noticed that after I got around 50 people that liked my facebook page I jumped to #1 spot in google for my targeted keyword which was also my domain keyword!

That happened a few months ago but recently I started to hear about Social SEO!
My personal take on this is that google starts to put more value on citations! Meaning that if I write Redstanford in my post you will be more important in google's eyes...but all this Social stuff Seo isn't just about this.

I like Nat's post, although I apply Facebook differently, more as an extension of the brand and a way of increasing visitor retention. Acquiring new visitors from it is more of an after effect.

I don't have many fans (134) but the number increases 5%-10% every week. These are REAL people who visited my site and decided to click Like.

Now that visitors have Liked my page, every time I update the Fan page, it goes directly to their feed. They continue to get all of my news and updates long after they've stopped visiting my site. This is great for my niche because there aren't many people who start motorcycling and stop a few years later.

Every now and then visitors will share things I've posted with their friends. Sometimes it will be general things (a motorcycle review for example), other times it will be something really specific (a review of a local motorcycle issue or event) which just ends up going viral.

Basically, the day to day Facebook posts keep previous visitors coming back for more good stuff, and on occasion these posts go viral and not only bring back old visitors but many new ones as well.

Some people have a lot of luck with Facebook, I have generally gotten more traffic from Twitter, Linked In, StumbleUpon and even Google Plus. I could be wrong, but I have a couple of dozen Facebook pages, and they don't generate hundreds of views a day, no matter what I do. However, if you want to give it a try, I can make you a free custom page tab through Pagemodo, show you how to redirect people from a tab on your page to any URL, including an affiliate link, show you how to put any page at all in an app, so long as it's hosted on your server, and get you likes for about four cents each. I would suggest you try all the social sites, and different ways of reaching people through them, and work out which ones work best, like Google Plus seems better to me already than Facebook for getting traffic and making connections.

Social media is the best effective way of getting traffic as many peoples visitor or use some kind of social media website. Similarly facebook is the most visited social media website. People spend good amount of time on this social media website and having fan page of product is effective way of attracting these peoples. As now days people read reviews about products before buying them.

It can be good for driving traffic if you get enough likes, it kind of like having another webpage. Once you design it you need to build traffic to it all over again to get likes and then the visitors will roll in if you update status.

Like example once you get 1000 likes and say you update you website, you update your fan page that you updated your website and a whole bunch will click through and it will be consistent traffic as long as you update your website weekly.

Fan pages can be awesome for traffic if you know what your doing.

I would say that Facebook is world for itself... I mean, Facebook can be great to get traffic and fans and customers but you should know what you are doing... every social platform has its own rules and so does Facebook... in most cases some regular promotional methods won't work on Facebook... also, Facebook offers various methods that can be used for marketing... in short words, I think there is a lot of things to know and be careful about so be sure to find someone who knows its job

A Facebook page is important, especially with so many daily viewers. BUT it is important to try to make yours stand out. Since there are many people with Facebook pages it is not enough just to have one...you have to find your own angle in order to gain followers and build an audience.

Once you have created a page it is important to get followers and people to like your page. There is debate over what is more important, quality or quantity. I would argue that if you are an up and coming business it is important to gain as many likes as you can since it adds a sense of "legitimacy". Message me if you are interested in a free way to do this.

I have not gotten fanpages for my sites yet, but when I do I will get one made for $5-50 and you can also buy fiverr gigs for 200 likes. I would get 1000+ likes right off the bat, as I presume it will help your promotional efforts from then on to get a higher % of likes than you otherwise would.

But traffic from Facebook seems to be a SLOW process. You can't directly invite or add followers like you can on Twitter by following people. They make you either buy the visits to your fan page, or else promote it all yourself. You can post all the content you want with 50 likes and grow at a snail's pace.

Then again, I should talk, but for right now I'm working on getting a few thousand visitors per month to my site and they can click the Facebook button there. And as I highly doubt a Facebook Ad campaign to my site would be worth the cost with just Ads to monetize my site, I will wait until I have a converting offer to start paying for Facebook traffic through its Ads.

I'm totally agree with yugaeko, If you will share quality and interesting content, people will automatically like your page. So be active on your page and do updates regularly. I hope it will help you to increase facebook fan.
